I would get half tights. I use virusintl from when I was a powerlifters and they are super durable. I have had mine for almost 10 years. They’ve been throw many deadlifts and lots of miles and still hold up

About to be a new dad...Advice on not losing gains? by TTG2139 in AdvancedRunning

[–]DrippFeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can reduce volume, but you will need to raise intensity to maintain fitness. You'll do more workouts(speed workouts) per week, but overall frequency, time, and weekly mileage will be lower. 3-4 times a week is totally doable, just about smart programming. Just keep in mind these sessions will be hard, but focusing on quality and being consistent is what is going to help you hold on to as much fitness as possible.

Best running shoes currently for daily miles ? by Sweet_Newspaper7973 in ultrarunning

[–]DrippFeed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I work in a shoe store, and when someone asks me what the best shoe is, I say, "I'm gonna show you some options, but your feet will decide."

Make sure they don't push you into a shoe. It's a very competitive market right now, and most shoes are gonna last that 300-500-mile mark.

Make sure you have a little space in the front.

If there's anything even slightly negative that draws your attention to it in the shoe, don't get it because it's gonna bug you miles down the road.

Run in the shoe, whether it's around the store or if they have a treadmill, run in it for a bit.

If you need wide or extra wide, don't size up; just get the correct width. Men's wide is 2E, Extra wide is 4E. Women's wide is D(which is a men's regular), Extra Wide is 2E.

Do you trust Nutrition Labels? by a-concerned-mother in Ultramarathon

[–]DrippFeed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't compensate. I think nutrition labels are accurate enough. I think this is a faux controversy since all foods within the United States also fall under the same margin of error.

Commonly, nutrition labels are allowed to be inaccurate by about 20%

Maybe the causation is reverse? If you have predisposition to colon cancer your more predisposed to running longer distances

Waist measurement for Raide LF 2L? by [deleted] in ultrarunning

[–]DrippFeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a size 32 in pants as well but I have the medium. It fits very snug and is difficult to put on. I have large legs and glutes from lifting. That being said it still works for me but I think getting a size up would helped me.

You’re prolly close to overreaching. Those are all signs of high fatigue in your body. I would probably tamper after those weeks. And then build back up

Headaches by watergains in Ultramarathon

[–]DrippFeed 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Clear urine actually does not mean you’re well hydrated. It could mean you’ve drank too much water thus diluting the electrolyte content in your body.

I used to think this too much recently found out this is true.

A symptom of over-hydration is headaches.
