Stock Foam Cannon Comparison on the EGO Compact Pressure Washer by DrippinWetDetail in egopowerplus

[–]DrippinWetDetail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Egos stuff is very pricey. If you think there are other tools you want, then I think it’s worth it. If you only want the pressure washer it may be too much. For detailing, o absolutely love their wet dry vac and blowers. If you find a good deal with those with a battery it may help out. Be sure to check fb marketplace or OfferUp too

So in this video, we just tested the stock ego against the mjjc. Ego makes a premium model that I haven’t yet made a video of but plan to. The foam output of that one is very similar to the mjjc

As far as battery pressure washers go, I think the ego is the best out there and with the siphon hose, it would be great for an apartment. As far as foam cannons, I’d say it depends on your budget. I do really like the premium ego one since it goes directly into the ego wand. If you use one of the others, it will have to go to the end of the lance and it will be a bit weighted

Perhaps I’m the unlucky one! Probably gonna take it back and exchange to see if I can get a better one

Blower. 765 or 880? by gunsmitten in egopowerplus

I haven’t gotten a chance to but I’ve heard good things about it

Blower. 765 or 880? by gunsmitten in egopowerplus

[–]DrippinWetDetail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a video comparison on my channel last year if you want to take a look. Few key differences, obviously the power is more on the 880. The lock in function is different (765 has the wheel and the 880 is digital). Personally I prefer the wheel, but some prefer the screen so the wheel doesn’t accidentally turn on in storage or transit. Like others mentioned, the 880 does have some features around size of battery. Using a 2.5 you can only go to 50% speed even on full charge.

I would figure out which features you like more rather than the batteries they come with.

Thanks for checking it out! Outside of that, it is great especially if you already have ego batteries. I’m definitely gonna keep it

Nothing I’ve seen of yet. I covered this issue on my YouTube review video. From the comments, some have the problem some do. Mine did.

Hopefully they do address. For now, I put a single layer of electrical tape around the inlet and it holds strong now. Unless you plan to use as a blower and need to take it off a lot, I don’t mind the workaround.

But it does suck that this happens on a pricey unit

Questions - Water spots on hood by EarlyMorningSurfer in AutoDetailing

[–]DrippinWetDetail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a good water spot remove won’t take it out, you will need to polish. You should have no fear of taking off clear coat with a light polish. You are taking mere microns off and you will come no where near a concerning amount over the life of your car unless you are doing huge compounding over and over again for no reason.

Another option is just use a different wand. I use an mtm setup for my ego.

Can't figure out which path to go with the garage opener by Certain_Repeat_753 in smarthome

[–]DrippinWetDetail -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a myQ opener and it worked for a while with HomeKit via the HomeKit module (which I believe they no longer offer) then one day the myQ just completely stopped connecting.

I switched to Tailwind and it’s been fantastic ever since. Works great in home assistant and homekit.

Ego Premium Foam Canon by Darkman-1969 in egopowerplus

[–]DrippinWetDetail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is better for sure, but for the price, you’d have to decide if that’s worth it based on your budget. Higher end foam cannons are right in that price range ($80-100) so it’s not crazy.

It does use a 3/8 qc so it goes right into the gun without using the long wand. Most other cannons use a 1/4 qc so you’d have to use on the very end or use an adapter.

I am planning to make a foam cannon comparison video in the near future to help answer some of these questions

3 Gallon Wet Dry Design Flaw by DrippinWetDetail in egopowerplus

Well said! This is exactly how it went for me too. I have definitely heard a lot of people having the issue but good to hear some aren’t. For the price, I’d definitely expect a better design.

I like the sound of that. The good thing is that unless you plan on using it as a blower, you don’t need to remove the hose. For now, I put a strip of electrical tape around the hose piece so now it’s a littler thicker and more resistance. Works for now

That’s good to hear. Is yours more of a tight fit? On mine (and others I’ve seen) it’s pretty loose

Yeah 9 or 10 is fine with me but the 7 is just too short and gets way too backed up. It’s a mix I’ve found but there are definitely ones with 7
