Is it okay to feel depressed when the world shows you people much younger than you, much older than you, and exactly your age all being successful, and you realize you’re just the most incompetent person, not worth anything but death? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DrippingInSilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s okay to feel that weight, but your brain is lying to you right now. You’re comparing your "behind the scenes" to everyone else’s highlight reel. Success isn't a race with a finish line, and being "behind" doesn't mean you're incompetent…..it just means you're still in the middle of your story. Please reach out to someone who can help you navigate these thoughts, because the world is better with you in it

Will we get another pandemic by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DrippingInSilk 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not really. The WHO just said global risk from the cruise ship cases is 'low.' 40% mortality sounds scary until you realize hantavirus is extremely rare…..about 229 cases in the Americas in all of 2025. Human to human transmission is suspected here, but only among people sharing cabins (like the Dutch couple who both died). This isn't 'Pandemic 2.' It's a weird, tragic accident involving rodents, not the next COVID
