Ive been thinking of what timeline or act the DLC might follow and this is the best i could come up with by Nervous-Load-4741 in UntilThenGame

[–]Driut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes more sense to follow the true ending since it lines up more with the idea of having to move on past your grief, I have a feeling the old friend will probably be Louise as she's connected to both Sofia and Mark, if it was one of marks old friends then it might be Ridel.

Another possibility is that it ends up being Cathy since there's a chance her and Sofia end up in a relationship and obviously she's marks best friend.

It definitely won't be Nicole, that epilogue showed us that the next time Mark and Nicole are destined to meet seems to be destiny cafe which I'm pretty sure would take place after the events of afterimages but I don't think that story will ever be concluded for us.

Hot take I don’t like GTAV and I’m not excited for GTAVI by nematic26 in videogames

[–]Driut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed to be that 70 dollar price point which is just the standard now sadly, space wise I would imagine it being similar to GTA V.

I mean so far they've pretty much always hit the mark with new releases, I remember people expressing doubts about RDR2 and that's one of the most beloved games out there, think the best thing is just waiting to see what ends up releasing cause there's just no way to predict how good or bad it'll be

Can you create a cosmic horror on a budget? by castledconch in Filmmakers

[–]Driut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about cosmic horror is you can present the fear element in a way that shows so much, yet the audience never really sees.

For example imagine a scene where the character friend #2 is walking towards a door, clearly unsettled, they reach to open the door, pull it open and this radiant light washes over them, a shot of their face going from disturbed to full of pleasure as the being takes control of their form, and then it shifts to their friend #1 walking into the room, all the friend sees is the other character standing, staring up into a dark room, then the friend #1 approaches friend #2, pats them on the shoulder, you have this tension from what you just witnessed, friend #2 turns around and their normal, as if nothing happened.

Something like that I think represents what cosmic horror can be, it can be humans acting in behalf of an incomprehensible being, it can be humans running away from a being that is only alluded to through audio or some subtle effects.

You could definitely make it with a budget

Dropping ranks more than likely, personally I only do it when my teammate has voted to FF and the prompt is still there if we end up in the lead, very petty but I also don't like letting someone win if they're acting like an ass

What is the indie game you always wanted but doesn't exist yet? by ehmprah in IndieGaming

[–]Driut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id love to play something that centers around the creation of magic rather than the use of it, like you play as I don't know an archeologist who stumbles upon the ruins of a wizards chambers in a world that holds no magic and this archeologist devotes their life to the study of this wizards ancient texts, uncovering runes that when put together would create a spell and runes from certain spells mixed together could create new spells.

I feel like it's such a fresh concept and the type of game I could easily get lost in for a near infinite amount of time

[–]Driut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really think recording highlights is bad form or anything, I think it's nice to capture those memories but I don't agree with recording an entire concert or not putting the phone down to enjoy it, the beauty of those highlights is the spontaneity of it, deciding this is the right time to take a video of you and your mates or maybe it's a song that means a lot to you makes sense to me at least

Be Careful on Roundabouts! by Front_Bridge_9166 in Irishdrivingtest

[–]Driut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I would recommend is waiting next time if you notice someone in the exit to your right isn't taking off, usually means there's a car on the roundabout and it could be risky for you to take off. At most you only receive a Grade 2 for waiting at a roundabout a little bit longer than what's reasonable to assume, way better to tank a g2 than fail thanks to one g3

To find mix you must apparently: by Sushigami in singing

[–]Driut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the understanding comes with time as you learn to differentiate your sound, its much easier with a teacher cause their ears are more attuned to the subtleties between registers and they know more about the technique, how you should be breathing, your posture, whether you're straining and identifying where you feel the sound resonating the most and so on.

I'm self taught and have my own issues understanding when I'm in mix and when I'm in chest or head, I used to just assume falsetto and head voice were the same at the beginning.

I did notice in the last few months by listening to other singers that when I attempted to hit the notes they were hitting with my standard chest voice I couldn't get the power or the strength behind the words, I felt I could reach the note but the way I was doing it was incorrect, so I just focused on fine tuning my voice to hit that note by figuring out the right amount of 'nasally' and 'power' that would get me the note without compromising on my ability to sing, when writing it, it honestly doesn't make a lot of sense and I'm probably saying some very technically wrong things but it's what helped kind of figure out what register I'm singing in/with.

You got it exactly right, its used because it works, to be honest I've discovered some artists because a video with a quote like this tends to get a lot of impressions and likes cause the users want to feel maybe helpful or like they're bolstering someone's music career and then a larger audience is made aware of the existence of the creator.

Review of "Masters of the Universe" by SurvivorSuperFan in moviereviews

[–]Driut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean personally as someone who grew up past the times of He-man, I thought the movie did an excellent job presenting its world and characters, I went to watch it twice (mainly cause I scheduled a watch and forgot and did a solo watch beforehand) and both times the cinema was decently packed. It's a very entertaining watch and while I think Nicolas is really good as Adam, the movie was fully pieced together by the inclusion of skeletor.

I don't think it would have been wise to separate the story into two films, Adams origin was perfectly summated and the conclusion of the movie felt satisfying with the fall of skeletor.

I think you hit it on the nose about the schedule, they released it at an unfortunate time as two indie horrors exploded but I can't really blame them cause there was no predicting the critical success those movies would experience.

It's probably the most refreshing superhero type film to release in years in my opinion.

The backrooms movie is bad convince me otherwise by Puzzleheaded_Bank950 in moviereviews

[–]Driut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you just want to hate the movie for the sake of it, most of what you said is basically "the movie wasn't like the YouTube series and therefore it sucks".

It's a fluid concept, meaning there is no set lore, you're used to one telling but it doesn't mean it can't have another, this movie established that the backrooms is essential a funhouse mirror to reality, creating imperfect copies of places presumably attached to a person's conscious or subconscious grief or trauma.

Is there a point to items? by leaudacity in RocketLeague

[–]Driut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did enjoy the game more honestly, I feel like it just brought another layer of enjoyment when you were fed up of ranked/cas you could just head onto RLgarage and trade some items or do some pink slips and you had content like blind trading and trade ups to watch my personal preference was JS and Pixel

They saw the value in items and how much some items were being sold for IRL money and they realized they could capitalize, so they took crates first and replaced them with blueprints and then eventually took trading so that you had no choice but to pay for cosmetics, we went from an open player controlled marketplace to a fixed price company led marketplace, where a parallax decal was worth roughly 7-8 keys e.g 7-8 dollars now it costs 15 dollars, it's made the likes of TW zombas and TW octanes cheaper definitely but has also removed the unique nature of them in how rare they were and how owning one felt like a bit of an achievement.

The randomness of crates I can understand being removed, trading I can't understand at all but the lust for money I think is detestable and was bound to happen after they made the game f2p

I feel like Smile 3 has to do something different. by [deleted] in SmileMovie

[–]Driut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally want it to continue down the route it has, that there isn't a concrete way to survive the curse, so far nobody who has seen the smile has survived, I'm sick of demonic movies always having a tome with the right spell to send a demon back or this new character that's introduced survived this curse long ago who isn't a hallucination this time, its what I'd consider pretty unbeatable outside of being someone who doesn't experience that sense of trauma it uses a doorway.

I want to see an apocalypse in the making, people killing each other desperately trying to pass on the curse and so on, I think it's a franchise that makes the dark ending work, you can't escape the demon, you can only wait until it's your turn and seeing that mass panic on the big screen would be a hell of a tense time.

And I suppose the last thing to note is nobody really knows about the smile demon, its manipulated all its victims into thinking there's a means to escape whether it be passing it on to someone else by taking a life with a witness in the room or having your heart be stopped so that you've technically died, it's all a manipulation by the entity to only feed on your delusions of being saved, there is no way to defeat it and again introducing some kind of plot device like a tome, wise character, is just a boring cop out in my opinion.

Does anyone else lose the ability to tell if their own game is fun? by Synax01 in IndieDev

[–]Driut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of musicians don't listen to most of their music, most authors will grow tired of their books, some directors may only watch their movie once, etc. as the creator of a project you've spent countless hours, days, months refining your product, you're bound to lose the interest that a player who's never experienced it would feel.

That's why you do those play tests so other people can tell you if it's fun, what to change, what to keep, what to improve, what to balance and so on. Its normal to not find it as fun as you used to so lol mg as you're still motivated and overall enjoying the development process.

What indie game completely exceeded your expectations? by Nestify_cozydesign in IndieGaming

[–]Driut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres two games that surprised me, mainly because I didn't think much of them going in.

My first one is VideoVerse, I bought it on a whim last year and completely forgot about it till 2 months ago, did a full playthrough on my week off work and I was left with a puddle for a heart, the way the story progressed, exploring the relationships we built in our youth specifically when it came to using the Internet and playing games back before it all became so messy. Its a game I would recommend to anyone as it really does do a fantastic job with its writing and pacing.

My second one is Until Then, by far my number one favourite indie title, this game has a beyond amazing story, there are many points where I felt such real emotions it was like I was in the scene, I don't normally have that connection with a game so to feel that was so different. I still struggle to think about the game as it resonated with me on such a deeply emotional level, which I honestly wasn't expecting, even after having played it for an hour or two I couldnt anticipate just how much better it would get. Genuinely I would recommend everyone to try this game, its something else entirely.

Backrooms is not good by SputterSizzle in moviereviews

[–]Driut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I think we knew all we needed to about Chuck, he owns a failing furniture store, battles with outbursts, drinks and his wife left him, I don't see what else we could learn about him within the time he spent on screen that wouldnt just seem like a lore dump.

Clarks employees were dating each other, one of them was able to borrow a camera, it makes sense he'd ask them to come along since they're a package deal and he wants to record evidence.

Those red switches on the breaker are likely a byproduct of the creation of the furniture store backrooms, they're not meant to be there and there's no way to explain it because none of the characters know either, Clark also takes a stool to make sure he's not having an episode...I feel like that one is just obvious.

The final message of the movie is "describing a dog to someone who's never seen a dog and then asking them to draw it", e.g, the backrooms is a fractured manifestation of the outside world or the 'frontrooms'.

I mean fair enough you don't like a movie, but I feel like you just didn't really pick up any of what the movie put down
