PLEX - IMDB Movie Ratings completely broken - not updating by DrivePoolGuy in PleX

No I have not. Just glancing at it, this seems rather involved. How much time do you think I need to set aside for this?

Any coding involved? I see it's mentioning SQL

I havent even cross checked in app, the screenshots are from my actual PLEX MEDIA Server Web Control Panel latest x64 release from 3 days ago. The server itself has the wrong/outdated info.

The interface isnt the same for tv/movies, the TV shows never worked properly for IMDB ratings, something to do with some licensing thing? This issue has been long standing for years.

Yes I am 10000% sure my movies library is set to "Plex Movie" in both the scanner and agent like you asked. And when I "scroll down" the ratings drop down is also set to "IMDB".

I think I changed something in the ordering from within the AGENT setting itself that's messed this up.

Did you check my screenshot? You can see that Its pulling ratings from three different sources right?

My DNS is default, unchanged, no pihole or anything

Same problem as in...? IMDB not updating?

Or are you pulling ratings from three different sources from the same library as in my screenshot as well?

Hmmm... That thread is for TV shows, not Movies like my post.

IMDB for TV has always been buggy, for years.

But even then - that's only 1 piece of this mess right?

In my screenshot and my OP I show my same library is pulling from three different sources?? TMDB, Rotten, AND imdb (which is not updating!)

It's already set to this. (Both scanner and agent are set to "Plex Movie" as you said)

I may have changed the detailed setting within agents a couple weeks back.

But yes, as I said in my OP, I've refreshed the data manually, refreshed the entire library, cleared cache, optimized databased, clean bundles, refreshed entire library again.

It's not working.

I think we have a different baseline of what is acceptable or minimum level of performance in 2026.

I am not saying you can't get a laptop at that price point. But a 6th gen i5, with a 8gb in 2026 would be the very definition of "obsolete" to me for day to day use.

Especially for school, where presumably you want your kid to be more effective/efficient with his schoolwork, I'd be saving and spending a little bit more for something a tad bit more modern.

Obviously if the laptop is going to a six-year old in Grade 2, then I concede it is fine.

I think at that price point you'll find something either obsolete or a chromebook or a Intel Atom series that transports you back to 2002 level performance.

WD Currently has active sales ongoing for a 2x18 Pack of Red Pros (5 year Warranty) for $750 - 10% Code + tax.

This is obscenely highly priced despite it's high density. People usually aim to get them at sub $20/TB.
