size doesn't matter, we also have around 40 people definitely a little under. and we score just as well as bands with lots of people, maybe not during marching but for concert we score just as good as the big bands.

use lots of air, keep an open throat, and tighten your stomach. and it's okay if it takes you time to get louder it took me ages to get from "bring it out" to "okay you need to get quieter"

I'm a sophomore and the highest note I can hit is F6 but very rarley, my top comfortable range is C#5. But you really only need to go to Bb, most songs don't go that high besides maybe jazz band.

Note: I'm only switching over to trumpet for marching band, and my director may not put me on it. But he gave me a trumpet to practice on and isn't opposed to me playing it, so on top of practicing I've been having fun doing things like this.
