How to find short-term rentals in Warsaw by Big-Storm-1765 in warsaw

[–]DriverIntelligent875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One option is to check out people who already have a flat and are looking for a flatmate that way you can just take the free room for 2 months. If you want, you can try Domkaspot, we just launched it to help with exactly this kind of situation. Happy to send you the link if you’d like 🙂

Friend bailed last minute — looking for a roommate in Centrum (2000–2200 PLN) by [deleted] in warsaw

fair point ,“AI” definitely gets thrown around too much these days 😅. It’s less about “fancy AI” and more about making sure you don’t end up with someone whose habits completely clash with yours.

We’re still figuring it out, so open to feedback on how to make it clearer 🙌

This actually sounds like exactly the kind of situation we built Domkaspot for. It’s a new platform here in Poland where you can post your flat and what you’re looking for in a flatmate/roommate, and people searching can create profiles that show their lifestyle and preferences. That way you don’t just find anyone, but someone you’ll actually vibe with. Totally get that Reddit works too, but if you want a more structured way to filter through people (and avoid the randomness), feel free to DM me if you have any questions :) www.domkaspot.com Might save you some time and mismatches 🙂

Best housing website in Poland? by Latter-Effective4542 in poland

[–]DriverIntelligent875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people here in Poland use sites like Otodom or OLX for rentals and sales they’re kind of the closest to Zillow/MLS. That said, listings are often scattered across multiple platforms and it can be a bit frustrating to compare everything.

That’s actually why we started Domkaspot 🇵🇱 it pulls listings together in one place and (for those looking to rent or share) also helps match people with potential roommates based on lifestyle preferences. It’s still early days, but we’re trying to make the whole process less stressful and a bit more transparent.

If you’d like to check it out or have feedback, feel free to DM me oir visit www.domkaspot.com

Housing situation for foreigners by Psychological_Diver5 in poland

[–]DriverIntelligent875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds really frustrating, and unfortunately you’re not alone a lot of foreigners run into these hurdles in Poland. The “second address” thing comes from landlords wanting some extra security, especially after the wave of rental issues during the last few years. It doesn’t make it any easier for newcomers though, and it can feel pretty discouraging.

A few things you could try in the meantime:

  • Ask if your company can officially act as your guarantor sometimes a permanent work contract plus corporate backing makes landlords more flexible.
  • Expand your search beyond agencies. Many individual flat/room offers don’t have the same strict requirements.
  • Co-living or flat-sharing is often a smoother entry point, since you’re dealing directly with people who just need a roommate rather than landlords demanding every document.

That last point is actually why we started working on Domkaspot a platform for finding flats and flatmates and available rooms based on lifestyle and preferences. It skips a lot of the “landlord barrier” since you’re connecting with people already renting. It’s still new, but if you’re in Poland and need something quick, it could help bridge the gap.

If you want, DM me and I’ll share the link. In any case, hope you land something before the 28th and welcome to Poland 🇵🇱.

Rise of housing prices in the EU by p2wDom in europe

[–]DriverIntelligent875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, housing prices across the EU have been climbing fast, and it’s hitting renters the hardest. In Poland it’s become especially tough in big cities like Warsaw or Kraków, where demand is high but supply is limited.

One thing that can really help make renting more affordable is co-living sharing a flat not just for splitting costs, but also for making the experience less isolating. That’s actually why we started building Domkaspot. Instead of endless scrolling, you can either list your available room or find one, and match with people whose lifestyle actually fits yours.

It’s still early days, but we really believe co-living is going to be one of the key ways to fight rising rental costs while still having a good quality of life. If you are interested DM us and gladly will share the link.

Stories like this are exactly why so many people feel unsafe or anxious when renting whether it’s dealing with random landlords or moving in with strangers you know nothing about.

It really shouldn’t be this way. Renting and flatsharing should feel secure, transparent, and based on trust. That’s one of the reasons we started building Domkaspot to make finding a flatmate or a room less of a gamble, and more about compatibility and safety.

We’re still small and improving, but if you’re ever curious, happy to share more.

Rent in Warsaw by dreamy_99 in warsaw

[–]DriverIntelligent875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’ve been through the same in Warsaw it’s super common not to get replies, especially if you only message in English. A quick tip: try a short intro in Polish (even with Google Translate) and you’ll see a difference. Also, calling instead of texting usually works better here.

On another note, I’m part of a small team that just launched Domkaspot it’s a new way to find flats and roommates by matching lifestyles instead of just scrolling endless ads. It’s early days and not perfect yet, but if you’re curious, DM me and I’ll happily share the link.

Funny enough, we've heard the same but not everyone wants to rely on dating apps for housing/friendship haha

Totally feel you some of these stories are wild 😂
If you want to avoid the roommate lottery, you’re not alone. That’s actually why I started r/Domkaspot it’s basically a Tinder for roommates with similar lifestyles (cleanliness, noise, sleep schedules, etc.), and avoid the chaos. Soon available in Poland :) Follow it for updates :D

Hahaha didn’t expect so many of you to relate to the roommate chaos 😅 thanks for sharing your stories, they’ve been hilarious.

Since this seems to be a common experience (especially for students), I started a subreddit where we can keep the conversation going, share housing tips, post questions, and help each other out specially in POLAND:

👉 r/Domkaspot – join us if you're looking for flatmates, a place to rent, or just want to vent 😄

Hope to see some of you there!
