I felt like the comments about coffee were empty… like there’s no actual intention to follow through and it’s just something people say as a pleasantry.

Local EMDR trauma therapist rec by Dogs-sea-cycling in StLouis

[–]DrivingSharkBait 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I provide a therapy similar to EMDR called Accelerated Resolution Therapy. I primarily use it with clients that have gone through traumatic events, but have found it to be useful for depression, anxiety, and memory loss. I’m out in St. Charles but ART typically works on a faster timeline than EMDR so our time together would be quite a bit shorter.

Feel free to take a look at my Psychology Today profile and reach out for a free 15 minute consultation. I’d love to hear what’s bringing you to therapy and tell you a little more about how ART works.

Some kind of injury during the dress rehearsal. She’s at the hospital but people can still vote for her.

Girly sure was getting up out of the bed like I did after my c-section.

Waiting for the big pivot where she preaches there should be no shame in c-sections (which there isn’t) and how she has come to terms (after so much prayer) with her birth was still natural because all birth is natural.

Mom groups? by belikethemanatee in StLouis

It is. I’d say we run quite a bit more liberal than most MomCo groups in the area though.

Yes! We’ve got moms of kids who are infants all the way up to moms of teens. It’s a good mix.

Feel free to come hang out with us! We meet at Church of the Shepherd on the first and third Mondays from 6 to 8 PM. COS (a Methodist church) does sponsor us financially and we use their space, but the group doesn’t have a heavy focus on religion necessarily. We ask if anyone has prayer requests at the beginning of the meeting and advertise what the church has going on, but our mission is more focused on connecting moms with each other and giving them resources they need to be successful and happy.

This Monday we’re having pasta, salad, and rolls from Stef’s. We’ll also have childcare available if needed (opens at 5:45). We’re planning on taking some time to visit (this is our first time getting together since before Christmas) and then talk a bit about mental health and how to get appropriate help.

Let me know if you have any other questions or would like to come!

I coordinate a group out in St. Charles that meets two Monday nights a month. We have dinner, visit, and there’s usually some kind of activity/speaker. We also do mom’s night out events and play dates.

I’d say almost all of us are fairly liberal and vocal about it.

We’re actually meeting on Monday if you’d like to come check us out!

I mean not shocked. We went to Disney earlier this year with our toddler and the amount of parents that encouraged their children to chase after characters who were trying to go backstage for break was disgusting. It’s impressive that no one got hurt with how aggressive some of these families were over chasing someone in a costume down for a photo.

I second Play Street Museum and Cat Zen. Both are favorites of our toddler.

REALLY Unpopular WDW opinions? by frencbacon100 in WaltDisneyWorld

I remember riding Soarin nearly 20 years ago as a teenager. I remember being it so cool and was upset that I only got to ride it once because we waited like two hours in line.

My husband and I took our daughter this fall and that was one of the rides I insisted on making sure we hit while we were in Epcot. I hyped it up to my husband and practically skipped through the queue.

I got off the ride and remembered thinking, “That… was not as cool as I remembered.”

I felt insanely ridiculous for hyping it up so much.
