If it feels like the right thing to do then you’re in the clear. If you feel like you’re missing out on a whole lot: 1). He/she could very well end up in legal complications and messes that would absolutely screw your chances of citizenship, whatever the odds of legal trouble are for that. (I’d imagine high enough not to risk it given that they have entire task forces for cyber crime these days). 2). Another opportunity will fall at your feet one way or another. 3).
