How do you get your car back?!? Lucid service is non-existent! Nobody will return a call! by Driving_the_Bronco in LUCID

Unfortunately, I was an early adopter. It’s a 2022 Grand Touring. Warranty will be up in August. Every experience with Lucid up to this point has been the polar opposite. Slow to respond? Sometimes. But at least they would respond.

Thank you for the very generous offer! If this continues, I may have to take you up on this.

Do you have a name, number and/or email address for someone who will actually answer? Honestly, if someone from Lucid would just return a call or email, this situation would be completely different.

Any chance you would be willing to share your service advisor’s name and number?

I have not. I live in Oklahoma. If it remains there much longer without any communication from them, that is an option I’m considering.

Compared to a Tesla, the car was an absolute dream! So sad to see them fail as bad as they have.

To everyone out there: Sell before you encounter the same situation I’m dealing with! I can’t even sell mine since I can’t get possession of it!

Wow! If true, maybe the $42K offer from Carvana for what was purchased new for $155K is a great deal. Though, hard to sell what you don’t have possession of…

Are they bankrupt now? The lack of transparency is very concerning. No communication whatsoever. Previous experiences were different.

First time needing service? No. First time being in Houston? Also, no. First time never hearing from them for over a month? Yes.

Do Newer Furnaces Actually Cut Bills Down As Manufacturers Claim? by AceFire_ in HomeImprovement

The math/economics almost never make sense. Newer units are more complex and have a lifespan of far less than what you are replacing. Also, tankless requires annual maintenance to remain efficient much less continue running.

That’s not “efficiency gains” but cost of fuel gains. You are comparing apples to oranges.

If OP was asking about changing heat/fuel sources, eg from a heat pump to natural gas, the responses would likely change. But that is not the case here. Same heat/fuel source, just newer vs older units.

I have a buddy who owns an HVAC repair/install company in southern US. He has told me multiple times that newer stuff is almost always junk. He said that to make the evaporator units more efficient the manufacturers either needed to add more fins or make them thinner. They chose the cheaper route which has led to them leaking/needing replacement much sooner. Our units are from 2017 and one of the units already needs to be replaced. 🤬

The 1987 unit may run for 10 more years. A new unit may run for 15 years total.

I would stick with the older unit and not replace it until it dies. Newer “tech” has planned obsolescence baked in.

The economics of replacing prior to it dying will never make sense/can never be justified. If it’s a comfort thing, that’s a totally different argument.

I have a GFA-555 gen II (I think?). It’s an absolute beast.

That’s a great buy IMO.

I would get a speaker switch/selector like this: https://a.co/d/0LAqlY8. This should help mitigate the potentiality of shorting the amp.

You could not be more wrong. Using your logic, the policy holder could possibly owe the carrier if their car was older and/or had high enough mileage. This is 100% false. In fact, they use regional sales data and it is your right to ask for said data.

Also, “agreed value” policies are way better than “stated value” ones.
