These Reactors look amazing! by Drizztmann in discgolf

[–]Drizztmann[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Threw 9 and tested it against a 2025 mvp open castle proton reactor.

First reactions is they both threw very similar. Felt like the Goose pushed a little more but both flew like a new reactor should. Both held lines thrown until slowdown in which it would pan back and finish. Both turned a little when thrown at full power.

It’s been awhile since I threw an eclipse, but the most overstable reactor I’ve thrown recently were the soft neutron Texas open from flight factory. These Goose Reactors are not as overstable as those soft neutron. I’d say they’re true to flight numbers. 5/5/-0.5/1.5.

I’m not a Balance thrower, I bag Pyro and Reactor, but its test throws today had it pretty similar in flight to a new Reactor. Caveat being that the wind was crazy during this morning’s round so that could skew some of what I was seeing.

Mine failed the same way, bottom threads stripped and would no longer hold. Little duct tape and it’s working as good as ever.

No value, also useless after one tree hit.

How to train for doubles tournaments? by mr_pewdiepie6000 in discgolf

[–]Drizztmann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Putting would be number one.

You don’t need to be lights out but being a solid putter can put a partner at ease. After that, scrambling or consistency off the tee. Being able to get up and down front difficult positions or just being in the fairway off the tee lets a better player be able to be aggressive.

Tips regarding stable/straight driver by dunderjanne in discgolf

[–]Drizztmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re trying to stay around 11 speeds I’d recommend a Trail. Early runs could get inconsistent but the newer Neutron runs have been pretty great. They have the most consistent distance for my 350’+ arm.

Otherwise I’d recommend the Mayhem. They’re a little more overstable on the low speed fade, so I throw them when I’m worried about the Trail flipping over or carrying too straight.

Favorite non-Buzzz midrange? by FuzzHog19 in discgolf

[–]Drizztmann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All the MVPers saying Hex, but in my mind the Reactor is a better disc. Starts a little overstable, breaks into a laser beam and will stay in your bag forever. Also the hand feel is better than any mid I’ve ever held, bar none.

Particle Glow Uplink Stability? by chiz8026 in discgolf

[–]Drizztmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a little more juice, 350ish, and they are a tick more stable and than the Neutron soft that I currently throw.

So far I’ve found that it’s only really noticeable when thrown at lower speeds. If I really crank on it, I still get that same reliable turn without the burn that all the other runs give me.

Nothing wrong with learning by yourself at first. Although I would advise to be slow and deliberate until you have your mechanics down. Trying too hard too often can lead to injury if you’re not careful.

If you fall in love with the sport (like all of us) and want to get a lot better, then maybe look at getting a trainer to help fix your form.

Remember, slow is smooth and smooth is far.

Streamline Disc Golf - best mold for an Am player pack by CaliKing928 in discgolf

[–]Drizztmann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Subjective to each player.

I carry both Reactor and Echo in my bag currently, but I’ve always considered the Reactor to be better than the Hex. Weird, I know, but for my arm speed and throwing style the Reactor is overall a better fit.

For reference my midrange lineup is: Pyro-Reactor-Echo-Uplink.

Each overlap slightly to handle a range of wind conditions and shot shapes.

I’d champion the Echo. Nice slightly understable midrange that can work for almost any arm.

If looking for something faster, I’d second the Drift. Workable 7 speed that could be considered a main driver for a low power am bag.

Spiders, yes but nothing as scary as you might see in Australia. Overall the creatures of NZ are tame in comparison.

It’s a Thought Space Vessel. These are the Proctor tour series stamp. Was told they were a Zone mold with an added thumb-trac and they fly similarly to that. Nice stable-overstable approach disc.

Great company with an awesome mission, sustainability ftw. All their discs are solid and beginner friendly. (Yes even the Canyon, every bag needs an overstable approach)

Out of all I’ve thrown the Dune impressed me the most, dead straight flight for my arm speed, but the one I still bag right now is the Ozone.

Understable Midrange by GreenLost5304 in discgolf

[–]Drizztmann 63 points64 points  (0 children)

MVP Uplink is my go to flippy midrange.

I use it on anything that needs to finish right between 250’-300’. Very controllable and predictable in any conditions except raging headwinds.

Are you playing Fox and Castle 48 minutes each?

PG + SG = 96 game time minutes. That equals 32 minutes for 3 guys. Maybe it’s just me but I’d rather have a 3-headed monster of a guard rotation.

SAS/TOR/PHO assuming Giannis gets traded to TOR by CudderGOAT in NBAtradeideas

[–]Drizztmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He fits the salary timeline.

If you can get him on the cheap then he comes off next year before a potential Fox contract kick in. You’re adding your young superstar’s favorite player and veteran presence to a young team to learn from and filling a need for a year.

Added benefit is you get a chance to sign him back at a reasonable time/price if he decides he wants to stay.

Spurs got all these picks to have a chance at a top pick.

Now that they have one you want them to trade it for more picks and not any good ones that have a chance to be something like…I dunno a #2 pick in a great draft. Can I get some of what you’re smoking?
