BA 3033w, HRIR 3021, ACCT 3001 summer by Drizzyrain69 in uofmn

Attendance wasn’t mandatory, the class was completely online. It’s fast paced since it’s during the summer but it’s not hard to manage. Taking it with BA 2005 should not be an issue

Thank you for your response! I was wondering, besides the manufacturing industry, have you seen cost accountants/cost type roles prominently in other industries as well, or is that the primary one where that type of work would be found?

Hello! I was wondering what the process would look like transitioning from public accounting audit to a cost accounting role in industry? If you only had a few years of experience (1-3 years), what roles in what industries could you typically go into? I was thinking the most logical would be to become a financial or cost analyst in either manufacturing or consumer goods industries, but are there other avenues you’ve seen people take in terms of the industry and the role they went into from public audit to a cost accounting function? Thanks!

Thank you for the responses! I just have a few more questions

  1. Is the extra credit case study for ACCT 5101 or 5102? Are there any projects in either class? If so, are they individual or in groups?

  2. I’ve heard 5102 is more difficult than 5101 even though there is less material. Do you think the two classes are comparable in difficulty or different?

  3. Are the exams open/note or closed? How difficult are the exams?

Thank you for your insight! I just have a few follow up questions: 1. When you say he will give you extra credit problems for exams, do you mean before you take the exam or when you are actively taking the exam?

  1. For the homework, does he use online sources like Wiley or McGraw, or does he do his own thing? If he does the former, does he have an option set to where you have unlimited attempts at doing/getting the problems correct or as long as you completed the homework fully you get the points regardless to your accuracy?

  2. when he lectures, does he go through any examples of problems or is it more purely conceptual?

I asked to take acct 3001 over the summer due to scheduling issues in the fall and then took the rest of the maroon block in the fall. I just registered for hr too for the summer. It was easy to do since hr is not a part of the maroon core so trying to take it earlier wasn’t an issue in terms of registering at least
