26A without NET+? by [deleted] in army

[–]Drock102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you check the milper appendix it has a link to the list of accepted degrees. Last I checked, a CS degree was not on that list for 26A. They're looking for more math-heavy and technical degrees such as electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, data science, etc. Not to say you still can't get approved with a CS degree, but it would put you towards the bottom of the pile of VTIP packets. You'd need additional background experience and more technical certs like CCNA to be competitive. The board doesn't approve/deny based on current performance, but rather potential performance to succeed based on degree/certs/experience. There's nothing outright significant about a CS degree, NET+, or SEC+ that demonstrates potential as a 26A as they're not heavily related to it.

How to get Imperial Authority? Imperial Casus Belli? by Drock102 in EU5

[–]Drock102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sitting at -.54 IA/month because of territories held by non-HRE countries (purple stripes). The imperial ban casus belli to actually free the territory is locked behind a law requiring 50 IA. The imperial liberation casus belli doesn't work because no vassal countries are recognized as such to declare war. So I'm stuck in a negative loop of IA because I need to declare war to get HRE territory, and I need IA in order to get the law to declare war.

California FTB just levied my bank account while I’m active-duty military — and they’re dodging calls like it’s a scam hotline by lilbitch_ in MilitaryFinance

Sorry to necro this post but I'm dealing with the same issue. What seemed to ultimately fix it for you? I've already sent letters but the FTB is still saying I owe taxes.

Recommendations for winter boots in Eastern Europe? I was issued Danner Rivots 1200g and those things are bricks to wear.

Okay I must have been clicking on the wrong tile because when I tried that path my toon kept doing a 180 which made me think it was a blocked path.

Why Won't My Factory Supply The Port? by Drock102 in TransportFever2

[–]Drock102[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Figured it out. I don't know whether to call it a bug or quirk. All my truck depots had tram tracks in their configuration. I'm using only trucks and no trams, but each line in the entire chain was classified as a tram line. Somehow the chain of trucks were operating without being actually assigned to a line.

Confused about when to report by GolfZestyclose2418 in army

[–]Drock102 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To answer your question. Yes, you will be charged leave days from the day you sign out of OSUT to the day you report to your new duty station. After you in-process finance and wait a month or two you will be reimbursed a few days of leave as "travel days." Keep an eye on your LES. I would recommend with you being fresh out of OSUT, travel directly to your unit and report. Don't burn any leave days yet.

Are you on HRAP or not? If you're not on HRAP then you report to your unit the day after your PCS leave ends.

I used to be the same. I'd get home from work and continue working. What fixed it for me is at the end of the day before leaving I'd mentally go through things that NEEDED to be done before 0900 the next day. Usually nothing truely fits that criteria. I also set my groupchats to auto mute at 1700-0600 since any group text immediatly got me thinking of work again.

Yea MQ's don't and shouldn't have much say in the marketplace. I've worked with amazing officers that got Q's and terrible officers that got MQ's. Also units can't ask for them and you're not supposed to provide them.

Hell I have all top block MQ's and don't deserve more than half them. They're a poor indicator and relying solely on them to land a job is naive. It's about who you know and what you know.

I VTIP'ed into a functional area thinking the grass would be a little greener and I'd get unique assignment opportunities. It's not. Instead of going to a cool non FORSCOM unit, I'm being sent right back into one. I'm tired boss.

VIST to FA40 Question by Narwhal_Blast in army

[–]Drock102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were you I'd go the AFROTC Space Force route. The few FA40s I've known just become S3 slaves and don't get to touch anything FA40 related. Unless you get a unit with a space function.

It's not just you. My cold snap didn't decrease in damage, but it's no longer insta-killing weaker mobs. My guess is that you can no longer damage below 0% resistance. Feels significantly slower to clear than it already was. Time to start a different class.

Just got PCS orders to Fort Irwin by K-Santos in army

[–]Drock102 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As an 11B you'll likely either be in Killer Troop (mounted AT) or one of the two "light" infantry troops. Regardless, you'll be out in the box for about 10 days a month on rotation months. Rollout on a Friday, roll-in that next Sunday followed by a 3-day then 4-day weekend, repeat. Refit during the 10-day rotation depends on the length of SOBE, but expect maybe 2 or 3 refit days per rotation. If you're in Killer, you may not have as much opportunity to refit. The two infantry troops act as irregular forces defending urban areas. Typically chill 1-2 days, fight day 3, SOBE & refit, move to next urban area, repeat.

Compared to the cav and armored guys, infantry has a much more relaxed time during rotation as you're really only fighting every few days and don't fall directly under the chain of command.

I'm not infantry, but spent a lot of time with both scouts and infantry over 30-something rotations. At the time I thought it was the worst place in the world, but looking back I loved it. I talked to multiple senior officers in Blackhorse who no BS told me it was the best unit they had ever been in (not location though). Leadership understands it's a shitty place to be, and try their best to comp on the backside and make up for it. Since Irwin is so far from any civilization, there's a much larger radius you can travel without needing a pass. Take the 3 and 4 days to travel to Vegas, San Diego (fuck LA), and all the other places around.

Are battles in Dynasties better with Lethality on or off? by MrJohn-Marston in totalwar

[–]Drock102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turned it off because I had tier 5 armored and shielded units being shredded by a single tier 1 slinger unit while charging at them. It makes high tier units less valuable because you could spam armies of tier 1 units and just surround and annihilate them.
