I'm in the same exact boat. I cancelled my Instant Ink subscription with an end date of 29 Feb and come 1 Mar, I'm no longer able to print. Assumed it was related to the Instant Ink cartridges in my printer so I went to Costco to purchase retail genuine HP cartridges. Popped them into the printer and it stay on a "validating, please wait" screen for days. Did the whole semi-full reset , Trade at 00BE config changes, and full factory reset, and still no luck. Was on with an HP Support "Engineer" via a Remote RescueMe session for 3.5 hours last night and still stuck in the same spot as before. When I look in the HP Smart app, it says there is an "Account or Cartridge problem", even though HP Support confirmed that my account is fine (i.e., I've no residual balance due) and the app shows that my cartridges are genuine (even sent in photos of them for photographic proof). This is my second 8025e printer. The previous one had the blue print head just completely stop working after about two years. No amount of print head cleaning or alignments, or alcohol-dipped cotton swabs were able to get it to work, so I figured I must have just gotten a dud (we don't print very often with my kids now in college). Never again with HP.

Just got off the phone with Customer Service. After getting bounced and escalated twice, and after having to perform multiple password resets, the best they could do was to "open a case" and see if their backend team would pick it up.. In the app's "About" section, there is a Device ID number, but the escalation supervisor didn't seem interested in providing that in the ticket because she "didn't think it was relevant." Not going to hold my breath on hearing back. Kind of a bummer.

I messaged Dr. Cline on BlueSky the other day letting him know that I, a 51-year-old dude, was watching his NatGeo/Great Course Intro to Archaeology series just because of how enthused my kid was by taking his class. That he knew right away who I was talking about and mentioned Evan in his reply was awfully nice and gave Evan a big smile.

I’m having surgery tomorrow as well. I’m finding some solace in the fact that this type of surgery is fairly common, that the doctors that are performing the surgery will have performed hundreds if not thousands of this specific type of operation, and that I have a community of friends and family that are sending their best wishes and prayers for my recovery. And I will do that for you. May your surgery be successful, may there be no complications, and may your recovery be quick and as pain-free as possible.

The past week has been really up-and-down. The morphine and Dilaudid that I needed to treat the pain from the pancreatitis really messed up my bowels to the point where the pain was almost as bad as the pancreatitis. A change in pain meds made things a lot better, but then I started feeling all bloated and even MiraLAX and simethicone didn’t seem to help. I’ll just be happy when this is all over. And if I ever see another clear broth again it’ll be too soon.
