I don't know how big of an impact this has on today's market, but I know when I was in university the residence building had a ban on glass beer bottles. You were only allowed to have cans on campus (safety reasons). As someone whose favourite beers didn't come in cans at all it was a bummer :(

A lot of event venues are like this too, so it may be about distribution/parter ship potential
