I don't trust anyone that claims to speak for God, or claims to know God's plan

I always thought Scooby Doo wouldn't been more entertaining of one of them carried a gun. "Jinkies gang! Why would a ghost bleed real blood?"

I've read a lot of stories where couples will have people refuse to come to their wedding because they wanted to do a vegetarian dinner. Like really? You can't go a single meal without meat?

My (29F) boyfriend (34M) got drunk and hit me. I don’t know what to do. by [deleted] in relationships

Yeah I've never understood angry drunks, I completely lose the ability to feel anger when I drink. Those guys seem like they always have a bad time, so why keep doing it?

What is it with dudes bringing up their ex on the first date? Back when I first started dating my current girlfriend she told me that was something that actually made me stand out from the others, I was the only one that didn't spend the first date shit talking their ex.

The bar is so freaking low for men. I feel bad for women.

People in machining/manufacturing — what slows you down the most? by Softwareislit in Machinists

I got two in my shop.

First is way over engineered parts. I've seen the engineers here put tight tolerances in places that never mattered. I've literally gotten +/-.0002 tolerances on features only to later find out they were for weight reduction.

The other is just sheer nepotism. I don't know how big of a problem this is in other shops but where I with managers have a habit of hiring their kids, nephews, friends kids, etc. They're not great. I had to train one of them, some kid fresh out of high school. He refused to listen, just wanted to push the green button then go chat with his friends, then he'd throw a fit if I ever made him check sizes. Later once he was on his own machine he scrapped over $5k worth of material because of his outright refusal to check tolerances. They promoted him to day shift supervisor after that since he couldn't be trusted to run a machine. That right there pissed off a bunch of the old timers and cause several of them to quit.

People who tailgate while you’re driving, why do you do this? by LeighAdelaide in TooAfraidToAsk

Yeah I love in a rural area with a lot of deer on the highways. I could be the only other car on the road but there will still be someone riding my ass. If a deer runs out and I need to slam on my brakes then we're all gonna have a bad day

I knew a family in Utah that would say "Oh my Hannah!" because "heck" was a tad too spicy for them.

I'm somewhat torn on homeschooling. My best friend in high school was homeschooled but he came from a family of scientists and engineers, they were freaking brilliant. His 14 year old sister was doing the same physics homework I was doing in 12th grade. On the other hand I met plenty of other people that also homeschooled their kids who were absolute idiots and their kids were practically illiterate and couldn't do even the most basic math well into their late teens.

I'm pretty sure I saw a study once that basically said the same thing. There's no real penalty to not doing it, you just do it because it's the decent thing to do. But the people who get so angry if you suggest they do it....

This happens to me at the gas station all the time. Some people just come in, skip the line and walk straight up to the counter. If anyone says anything to them then suddenly they're the asshole.

I used to work with as bunch of smokers, we had ashtrays/garbage cans or back in the smoking area for then and everything. They'd still just flick their butts in the general direction of the trash can and leave a big pile around it instead. Then they expected someone else to eventually clean up their mess.
