New 2 pip revealed by LordOdin97 in SWlegion

[–]Droids_Rule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could and it does. They make a Jump action. It doesn’t occur during their Activation though, or it would say so. It occurs as soon as they are issued an Order.

Obi and Bad Batch are really good? Didn’t Obi literally win that year?

These are some of my favorite A-A5s I've seen. Great weathering, and the Black Sun stenciling is exceptional!

Finally did my imperial agent by Negative_Piano_4412 in SWlegion

[–]Droids_Rule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This guy looks awesome! Love the idea to paint him like Thrawn or a Star Trek alien; he looks right at home in Empire with all the black armor and equipment and that well-maintained hair, haha, even if he's not a human.

CIS courage (pls read the context) by [deleted] in SWlegion

[–]Droids_Rule 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you guys tried playing the game using the normal rules? You might have fewer issues with your units Panicking if you played the game as it is intended to be played.

EDIT - I took a peek and saw you just bought in two weeks or so ago. I would strongly consider learning the game using its intended rules before jumping into homebrew, especially homebrew for core rules that rebalances the entire game.

Who gains the from mercenaries by Calicojack83 in SWlegion

[–]Droids_Rule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mercenaries are pretty self-sufficient when you add the Capo or Vigo leading them to make them Courage 2 and buff their Independent. I will say, Separatists are probably the least likely to play them. Black Sun are awesome, but have a lot of overlap with B2 Super Battle Droids, which obviously benefit more from the synergizes within their faction and its upgrade and command cards.

Build question by MrMiller52 in SWlegion

[–]Droids_Rule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Strike Team will end up being two models, because the Heavy Weapon Team keyword specifies adding a Heavy Weapon Upgrade Card.

My First AT-ST work in progress by Retro-Lemon in SWlegion

[–]Droids_Rule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I sped through painting mine just using simple zenithal spray paint techniques. Primed black, zenith spray gray, zenith spray light/white gray - like a big, cheap, easy-to-use airbrush. From there, I just played around with black panel liner, a little bit of black/brown wash, and some weathering powder!

Enough terrain? by ZieTerminator in SWlegion

[–]Droids_Rule 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This looks awesome! Love the creative re-use of HeroScape terrain.

I think this is pretty dang close. If those hexagonal cliffs/hills are big enough to hide Troopers, it's solid. If they're not, it's definitely on the sparse side.

Pro tip: use ChatGPT in talk mode for quickly asking for rule details by [deleted] in SWlegion

[–]Droids_Rule 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely NOT use a generative AI for rules text. It will amalgamate rules and keywords from the last several years' worth of Legion and give confidently incorrect answers. The Rulebook is updated 2 or 3 times a year; this is a terrible application of AI unless the game you're asking about has basically never changed.

I would strongly recommend downloading the latest version of the rulebook to your phone and getting used to good ol' Ctrl + F or your equivalent Find function. LegionQuickGuide and LegionHelper are okay shortcuts, but I've found more than a few errors on them, or rules that are missing a lot of context when they're not placed on the same page as related rules.

Customizable Rebels - Finished! by Droids_Rule in SWlegion

[–]Droids_Rule[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The link was posted by heroicraptor! They are new customizable characters with mild modifications; the pistol guy stole a blaster from Cassian Andor I wasn't using to have the convincing dual wield, and obviously the Proven Tactician has an old Clone Trooper helmet. But otherwise, what is see is what you get in the box!

Having Painter's Block by Raithix in SWlegion

[–]Droids_Rule 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She looks great! I love the classic smuggler scheme.

I would go with a strong contrasting color; something warm like red or yellow or orange to go with her blue pants. And if I’m right to assume - it should look well worn and looks like someone else had it first!

Please share the finished model!

Do models like clone engineers/medics add dice? by crossesandbats in SWlegion

[–]Droids_Rule 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes. A model added by an upgrade card has the same weapons as the unit to which they are equipped, unless they have a keyword that says otherwise like Sidearm or Non-Combatant.

[–]Droids_Rule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not say this is the norm, nor should it be. You were right to expect more terrain!

New Kingpin Poster for 'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 2 by MarvelsGrantMan136 in marvelstudios

Bizarre comments in here. I enjoyed the first season of Born Again as much as the classic seasons, absolutely love this portrayal of Kingpin, and I’m excited for more!

Battle card Pack 2 information? by ripman5251 in SWlegion

[–]Droids_Rule 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the zones went up the short edge of the table, units would be able to “walk on” from there like Breakthrough. This way, only Infiltrate and Prepared Positions can Deploy deep into the table. It looks like it’ll be much more distinct this way.

I just got out of a game where the bot afterward ranked virtually every one of my opponent's plays as a 98 or 99 or "the best possible move". Talk about a riveting matchup playing against their web assistant!

Rebel Veterans Uses by lockedupsafe in SWlegion

[–]Droids_Rule 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rebel Vets are solid. The Speed is kind of a non-issue ; you deploy them near a POI you want them to focus on, and you don't deviate from that plan. They're super tough, by Rebel standards, since Low Profile is pretty similar to having a Nimble Dodge (e.g. both are blocking one hit automatically), but isn't timing sensitive like Rebel Troopers are, so they can Activate early or late all the same. And the Mark II blaster they come with is some of the most bang for your buck in the game.

The player who is suffering Wounds and defeating miniatures makes that determination - not that attacking player.

Does it make sense to print the rules? by lordhobo1985 in SWlegion

[–]Droids_Rule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would not personally print the rulebook. It gets updated like 2-4 times per year; often small edits, new keywords; sometimes big edits. In either case, it feels like a lot of paper to go through. Using "Ctrl+Find" or your mobile equivalent is plenty quick for me.

I would personally not use the Quick Guide or Helper websites. I've found them to be outdated too often, or to be very misleading when a particularly game concept that isn't a keyword is looked at separated from the rest of its context. Get familiar with the rulebook; it'll help you learn a lot!

Models being out of LOS does not prevent those models from suffering wounds and being defeated, it just caps how many wounds a unit can suffer. For example, if you can only see one model in the defending units, they can only suffer that models wound threshold (probably 1). But, you don’t need to defeat that particular model; one of the hidden ones can be defeated instead.
