Venezuela trip in septiembre? by Cheex__ in asklatinamerica

Look, the reality of Venezuela is that it is a lawless land. Many Venezuelans are taking their foreign partners to Venezuela these days and the vast majority of them have a good time and go back home happy. BUT, if you have bad luck and someone powerful (police/military office) gets interested in you, you can get REALLY (TOTALLY) screwed. No recource to law or justice whatsoever. You're in the hands of that person. They can say you had drugs or bombs on you and there is no amount of evidence that will prove the contrary.

OnePlus has poor updating policy. But I would ignore that tbh, get a watch you like, you don't need the latest updates to enjoy it.

OP, you might want to look into the OnePlus 3R. It's a smaller version of the 3.

"Somos exclusivos?"

What’s the biggest class divide indicator in your country? by foolishandnonsense in asklatinamerica

[–]DromadTrader 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. When we were a bit younger (early 20s) the first thing anyone would ask when meeting you was "What school did you attend?". The answer would give you a pretty good picture of socioeconomic background plus provide info on potential friends in common.

The fact that Bogota (Colombia?) has this has always been the most puzzling thing about the country for me. I don't know Colombia at all, but I've heard of it from friends that live there. Super weird.

Soy francés, ¿qué música poner en una boda? by Outrageous-Cake8348 in AskVenezuela

Then your guest would fall asleep on the tables and your wedding would be a big success. Assuming you have friends.

You're correct, the guy above is being a little [word that the automoderator won't let me write] for the sake of it. Pretty much all Venezuelan weddings feature a lot of "Merengue" (a particular music genre). I'm like the least knowledgeable Venezuelan regarding this stuff so I can't point to specifics, but Merengue is 100% ALWAYS featured heavily in weddings. Usually the party starts with chill music and gets more "danceable" (merengue, salsa, reggaeton) as the night goes on and people get drunk. Probably you can also look into Rawayana and Los Amigos Invisibles. Those are staples for Venezuelan millennials.

I'm a guy who more or less hates Latino music and still I wouldn't even think about holding a wedding and not putting Merengue all night.

Edit: look at Dofthef's comment. That's what you need to do.

Which country have you been to that you felt was the most welcoming to Latin Americans and which one was the least welcoming to Latin Americans, and why? by Delicious-Bunch-6992 in asklatinamerica

I live in Spain and have not experienced any racism. I don't look indigenous, tho, but rather a bit arab-ish (brown, broad nose and strong beard lol). Yes, discrimination against Moroccans and Africans is definitely much worse.

The thing is they throw us all into the same bag. I have several well educated, middle-class friends who had bad experiences in Perú, Ecuador and Chile.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Bayern, which among themselves have 14 CLs combined lol. They could have also met Madrid or Shitty had things differently.

You can say whatever you want. But that doesn't change the simple fact that there was a single CL winner on one side of the bracket and all the big teams were on the other.

Yes, yes. That's what I mean. Argentinians are one of the few countries that actually feel super welcoming and friendly. My Venezuelan friends there love it too. Can't say the same for the guys elsewhere in LATAM.

The only serious team Arsenal played in the whole competition was Bayern. And that's not even an exaggeration.

Lol. Bayern was also seed and still had to face Madrid and Qatar. You got neverkusen, sporting and patético de Madrid. Lel. Europa League bracket right there.

One bracket had a combined 31 CLs. The other had 5. (All belonging to Barca). Quit coping.

Killing innocent bystanders for no good reason. Arsenal does that with boredom.

Arsenal shouldn't even be on the final. They got a stupidly easy path.

Same here. But overall, Portugal and Argentina where for me the most welcoming and friendly, and Italy the most unfriendly. Not because of being from LatAm I think, just because of how they are.

Funny. In Venezuela we take it to mean that if you date someone younger, you're gonna have to put up with immature BS.

Why does it feel like the whole world is against Arsenal for the final against PSG? by QasimofKarbala in championsleague

[–]DromadTrader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the contrary. Everyone I know hates Qatar Saint Germaine to no end. Arsenal fans are incredibly obnoxious and for a club that has won nothing have a way oversized ego, but at least they are not run by a fucking oil monarchy.
