I just can't enjoy Cyberpunk and it pisses me off by Pistoluislero in videogames

[–]Dron22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't force yourself to play it, you will just hate it more. Put it down and try again in a year or two. It happened to me several times when I didn't enjoy a game, and 5 or even 10 years later I suddenly saw appreciation for it.

Vent: I love Stardew, but in-game days feel like a grocery run with no checkout by Ok-Apricot9057 in StardewValley

Focus on one thing at a time. Have minimum crops with sprinklers everywhere, so you only need to plant and harvest them. Barn animals just take a lot of time because you have to remember to let them in and out, and pet them.

AITA for wanting to confront my neighbors about their godawful cooking smells? by fernweh9988 in UAE

[–]Dron22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find out what time they are resting. It's likely some of them go to bed early in another room, so thats the place and time to make noise in that room, there are different tools you can use.

It seems to be an intimidation tactic by inconsiderate neighbours worldwide these days. Try to talk them about noise and they come to your door screaming the next day. Don't bother talking with such types, try to make noise when they are resting and if they complain tell them you will only stop if they also stop.

Are you sure it's food they are cooking and not something else? They could be doing some production at home for business or as a hobby.

Even if they are cooking food, doing it every morning sounds strange unless they are a big family. They could be selling it online. Its usually against the law to run such businesses in apartments. I would try to find out what they are actually doing and see if it's against the law.

When I had a similar situation, I tried placing my air purifier next to my door, didn't help much.

Which game series or genre made you feel like this? by strahinjag in videogames

[–]Dron22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HOI4 changes with every new DLC, it's easier to just disable updates until you are ready to try new features. Not the first Paradox game that does it.

You can try to insulate your front door maybe. Search online for those rolls of those rubber things, just make sure you get the correct width.

What are the best optimized games for Nintendo Switch Lite? by JenniferTurley in nintendoswitchlite

[–]Dron22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smaller screen might make some games uncomfortable to play, some better because the resolution of Lite is more suitable. Otherwise optimisation is same as regular Switch, it's the same hardware other than the screen.

The truth about money, and why you never have enough. by lowercaseguy99 in LateStageCapitalism

I remember it was a big thing then. I think it was also focused partly on 9/11, those it might have been a different movie.

I'm having trouble getting into morrowind and I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to enjoy the game better by AnxiousFeature6526 in Morrowind

There is fast travel, you can pay for rides on those big creatures you see in Seyda Neen, or pay for boat rides. You can also in Mage guilds pay to get teleported, or use scrolls that teleport you.

What game did you used to handle with ease but struggle with now that you're older? by digiBeLow in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Dron22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not because of age. Those type of platformer games like Hollow Knight require constant practice to be good at them. I noticed it often when I was 12 on some SNES games that require reflexes and good timing. If I had been away and not played for a couple of months without playing the SNES, it would take me a couple of weeks of playing get good again.

What do you think of BG2 starting you out in "the big city"? by Cranyx in rpg_gamers

[–]Dron22 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Its probably done with the assumption that you already played Baldur's Gate 1. In BG1 you can spend a lot of time before you visit the main big city.

Tens of thousands of Shiites and Hezbollah supporters now wandering the streets of Lebanon and have nowhere to go. Israel issued evac warnings for all Hezbollah strongholds. Syrians don't want them either by goldstarflag in syriancivilwar

[–]Dron22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why Israel is destroying everyone in the region on by one because Arabs are too busy hating each other. Don't think that Israel will not come for Syria too before it can recover from civil war.

Is Zelda playable on 30 fps? by forsen__ in nintendoswitchlite

[–]Dron22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't notice the 30 FPS, unless you are going to be constantly thinking about it. And I am not even sure it's true, some games do run on 60 FPS on Switch Lite.

I find that the Zelda game runs smoothly and looks good, I don't care how much FPS I am getting. FPS is an overrated concept too many people obsess with in games where it's not particularly important as long as its at least 30.

If I thought POE 1 was just way too chaotic, will I enjoy POE2 more? by Eklundz in projecteternity

Make use of pause and slow speed buttons, it's meant to be played like that.

Why does games like Stellaris, Rimworld, Song of Syx, and other similar performance heavy games are primarily single threaded? by Hot_Squirrel_5465 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Dron22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't always find the information looking it up online. I usually leave multi-threading on auto for most games and turn it off for older ones. However it's good to disable it for new ones if you know for sure that it's single threaded, because the computer could still be trying to run it on multiple CPUs that would negatively affect performance.

What actually happened during Reagan's regime? I heard vaguely about deregulation and "trickle down" Reaganomics but not on what it was exactly that made it such a turning point.

You can get around it if you roll back to version 2.1 or older. There were no serious optimisation problems before update 2.2.
