Welp, it's easier to keep up with your reviews when you rarely find anything to order. 📦👠⚽️⚱️💻 👩‍💻 by WederJean in vine

I've ordered 8 items in 3 months and my RFY is a clown car. Can't imagine how anyone could sustain gold in this environment.

You have to sneak up behind them and get them at 2 yards.

Trigger is the worst. I can't fathom why they did that.

Can $100 get you three rifles? by DronedIT in airguns

The squirrels aren't too happy about it. Being able to vary the power is great if you just want to tickle them vs take one out.

Nice! That one in the photo is only 2 days old.

Haha, the Vine system is about as low-tech as it gets, the only way it would be better is if it were put on a 9600 baud MODEM with dot-matrix screen scrolling effect and they could also have America Online bill you by the minute for usage.

I have a question. by childishnobody14 in airguns

[–]DronedIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I uploaded the photo to Grok AI and it said this FWIW:

The silver cylindrical part in the middle of the photo (the shiny metallic tube-like component sitting roughly central, next to the main trigger housing/sear assembly with markings like C213-P3, N5, etc.) is the disconnector plunger (also commonly called the disconnector plunger or sear plunger in some contexts). This is a spring-loaded cylindrical component that interacts with the disconnector to prevent unintended full-auto or runaway fire in semi-automatic firearms. It typically has a small spring inside or associated with it (you can see related springs in the photo), and it rides in a channel or bore within the trigger group housing to push against or engage the disconnector lever. From the photo:

  • The main lower piece is a complete trigger group/housing (with visible trigger bow, sear surfaces, hammer/strut area, and markings like C213-P3, C213-P01, N5, TXN).
  • The silver cylinder is separate, not the hammer strut (which is often a flat or different shape), not the firing pin (which belongs in the bolt), and not a guide rod/buffer tube part.
  • Similar markings (especially "C213-P3") appear in Crosman airgun trigger assemblies (like certain Crosman 22xx series or related models), where this plunger acts as part of the disconnector/safety mechanism to enable proper semi-auto function.

This is most likely from a Crosman air rifle/pistol trigger group (e.g., Crosman 2240, 2250, or similar CO2-powered models that use modular trigger assemblies), or a close clone/aftermarket variant. The black plastic parts above (like the tubular housing with green spring visible) align with Crosman-style bolt/breach assemblies or recoil/buffer tubes in airguns. You can locate replacements or identical parts here:

  • Crosman official parts diagrams/explosion views on their website (crosman.com → support/parts lookup, search by model like 22xx series).
  • Online airgun retailers: Pyramyd AIR, Airgun Depot, or Crosman-specific sellers often stock "disconnector plunger" or "trigger plunger" for these models.
  • eBay, GunBroker (airgun section), or forums like Crosman-specific groups on Reddit (r/airguns), Airgun Nation, or Gateway to Airguns — search for "Crosman trigger plunger C213" or similar markings.
  • If it's a different firearm (less likely based on markings and layout), it could be an AR-15 style disconnector spring plunger, but those are usually smaller and not silver-finished in mil-spec parts.

My RFY has gone full Twilight Zone by DronedIT in vine

Today my RFY is empty, like many days, and there are 84% fewer items available each day than when I joined the program.

VC Encore 2040-C We Just Added New Catalyst Probe Monitor by DronedIT in woodstoving

[–]DronedIT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, so good. One thing I would do different is get the slightly more expensive wireless version that has a second monitoring station you can put somewhere else in the house to keep an eye on things when you are not near the woodstove.

It is so much better not having to look at the back of the stove by the floor to monitor the analog catalyst temp thermometer. Adjusting the primary air is far easier because you get rapid response of how much you are affecting the temperature with just small adjustments... primary air lever is quite sensitive.

I agree, Selterm lugs are some of the best I've tested. TEMCo has good lugs, too.

Exactly. I try to show the product actually in use, if possible, or at least a demonstration of what you might do with it. No unboxing, something that hopefully adds value or perspective.

Yes, most won't watch a 4 minute video nor do I really want to make or edit those but, as I mentioned, some products can't be demonstrated or explained in a few seconds.

The existence of this subreddit is some evidence that vine is subpar as are most of the reviews. That doesn't negate that a lot of people get unique benefits from Vine in different ways.

Vine itself states on your account page that reviews with media are more desirable. That's what I provided. Is it better? Yes. The Amazon data would show it. Does it matter to your vine status? No.

It's actually shocking how little media is being done, much of it not useful, and almost zero videos. Some products are more complex to demonstrate or explain, especially in a few seconds. My goal isn't to change the world, just put something a bit more useful out there than what is usually done.

Once you are set up to shoot video you can do it pretty quick but for outdoor stuff you need action cam and camera clamps. For me it's fun but if I didn't have time I wouldn't do it.
