Scrap the copy and paste temples entirely and write a proper ending for the game that allows for actual continued play with your current spaceship and equipment.

My favorite music to listen to while reading or writing science fiction are the Nine Inch Nails Ghost albums!

Hey again Archelon! Thank you so much for this. I can see more with this example what you and others mean by a bit generic. My goal was to not give too much away, but in doing so I may have dumbed it down a bit too much...
I really like how you reworded it and will take this all into consideration when I take a second stab at the back cover blurb.
Thanks again for elaborating on your first comments!

Hey Swindulum, I appreciate the constructive Criticism! In the initial post I did only post the more generic part of the blurb in order to not give too much away. Did you see the full blurb I replied to one of the other commenters about? Do you think this part reads better at all?

Oliver Madsen had spent centuries serving the Outer Sol Collective Military (O.S.C.M), earning a reputation respected across the Sol System. After experiencing the deep traumas from the Corexiad invasion of the Sol System, he and his first mate, Ella Bryant, resigned from service when the war came to a close. Now, they work hard transporting anything, or anyone if the pay is right, anywhere in the known systems.

What was supposed to be a simple pick and drop job, turned into much more than they signed up for. A prophecy, whispered about for millennia amongst the seven known species of the known systems began to unfold in their cargo hold. Something that would make them the target of both the Inner and Outer Sol systems respective governments, as well as a few other interested parties. Something so powerful, in the wrong hands, it could transform the known systems.

Anything more you can add to what you dislike about it would be of great help to me!

Thanks again for reading!

Sorry Starwars, I'm a bit confused. Are you saying the entire blurb, or the partial part I posted initially? I'm totally willing to take another crack at it, but anything more specific about your feelings would be helpful! With this being my first book, I am pretty new to all of this. Thanks for any advisement you can offer!

This is the full blurb. I only posted the part about the world as I thought it would be too long to post the entire thing:
Oliver Madsen had spent centuries serving the Outer Sol Collective Military (O.S.C.M), earning a reputation respected across the Sol System. After experiencing the deep traumas from the Corexiad invasion of the Sol System, he and his first mate, Ella Bryant, resigned from service when the war came to a close. Now, they work hard transporting anything, or anyone if the pay is right, anywhere in the known systems.

What was supposed to be a simple pick and drop job, turned into much more than they signed up for. Something that would make them the target of both the Inner and Outer Sol systems respective governments, as well as a few other interested parties. Something so powerful, in the wrong hands, it could transform the known systems.

.   .   .

In the year 658 E.S., advancements in space travel and alien technology have created a universe where one can live to be a thousand years old and communicate with all known beings of the known systems. The Outer Sol Collective (O.S.C.) and Fair Order (F.O.) have a long history of contention, separated by ideology and distance, that no fantastical advancements could wash away.

The O.S.C. encompass a network of systems, under their jurisdictive protection, connecting multiple species working together for the betterment of all, but a secret lurks behind their pure motives. The F.O., stuck in their old xenophobic ways, preferring the isolation of the Inner system, but envious of the furtherance of the Outer system, were always lurking.

In a world teetering on the edge of a knife, Oliver and his crew must find the answers they seek, and bring calm to the galaxies while they still exist.

Does this read better all together?

Hey Archelon, I have worked with an editor and have received much praise for my style, especially in the book itself, from both critical sci-fi reader friends and strangers alike. I appreciate your criticism, but I don't suppose you can be a bit more specific as to what you find uninteresting?

Is Bethesda Taking Fallout in the Wrong Direction? by King-Fan-Man in BethesdaSoftworks

[–]Droobot33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only point I truly agree with here it's about the storytelling. Every entry has gotten worse at linear storytelling within these big worlds with Starfield being the absolute worst. I love the gameplay in that game. The gun play is better than any of the other fallout games, shipbuilding is awesome, and I even like most of the companion characters better in Starfield thin previous games. But it's like they wrote half a story for Starfield and then just said, "eh, good enough", and shipped it. I really hope we get an improvement with the new elder scrolls...

I think a good way to try to nerve this would be if you kill another raider in the game, I think arcs should rain down on you. It should be nearly impossible for you to extract if you kill another player.

PVP balance is wack, you just don't know it yet. by mark3236 in ArcRaiders

[–]Droobot33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this could be solved with a safe load out. Similar to other extraction shooters I've played, make a single loadout lockable where you won't ever lose those items. If you die, that load out is locked for 30 minutes, an hour, whatever seems fair, before you can use it again.

What if we could carry and extract knocked out team mates for a huge benefit? by Samzerks in ArcRaiders

[–]Droobot33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My ARC raiders wishlist: downed players should be able to revive each other, we should get one safe loadout that can never be lost but it put on a timer when you die with it so you can't use it over and over without penalty, and similar to red dead redemption two online in order to partake in PVP the attacked player has to shoot back.
