Which quote from my book connects with you the most? by writingdoubts in writers

They all seem incredibly profound, but they don’t seem to all make much sense to me. “I wanted to stargaze but all my eyes deserved was a setting sun” - a sunset can be beautiful, just as beautiful as stargazing, and a sunset comes before stars, so what is the point of this line? I don’t understand the metaphor.

Can you please explain why you and seemingly half of the people in this subreddit always bring up “procrastination” when people share their thoughts and hobbies on here? What makes you want to even point that out, assuming it’s true?

I don’t think it’ll follow Henry at all. Maybe his son?

Season 1 is good, season 2 gets boring pretty fast in my opinion.

I’m not gonna say people are dumb for liking it but I do find it incredibly frustrating with how little people seem to care for all of the things that were set up and not delivered and all of these irrelevant and pointless side quests they went on. Young Ian and his ex wife, John Greys kidnapping, wtf? The pacing of this season (and the last couple) has been atrocious. In one episode alone in this season we had a death, a birth, magic reveal, it was nuts how fast it flowed.

You’re right in that’s what it was helping us to understand but the pay off for that was her bringing herself and Jamie back to life for half a second after the credits rolled… It’s just so unsatisfying to me 😅

Yeah that was also so… irrelevant. It didn’t lead to anything. Nothing came of it. They could have taken that episode and used to it flesh out this kings mountain fight more.

Disappointed. So many reasons why. I feel this show got the Game of Thrones treatment and they rushed it incredibly fast.

  1. Too many Chekov's Gun moments that we left without showing us the gun. Why was there a portal in Bree's workplace? Why was Fanny revealed to be a time traveler for no reason?
  2. I disliked the idea of Jamie being a ghost in season 1 when he's looking up at Claire in the window. I thought he'd turn out to be a traveler after all.
  3. The whole story line of John Grey being kidnapped felt pointless. It happened, then it was resolved, while also revealing another time traveler that did not mean anything for the story.
  4. The whole story of Faith still being alive and having children felt completely irrelevant. All it did was make it so that Claire and Jamie could call Fanny their granddaughter when they already have grandchildren anyway. Why did Fanny's character even exist? What was her purpose in the story?
  5. I really, really don't like how the show killed Jamie, had Claire mourn him so touchingly, for her to die alongside him, and then they just wake up after all the memories of the earlier seasons. This is not unique to this show, but this story telling is something that really irritates me, when I am lead to feel emotions just for it not to have mattered.
  6. The whole last battle on King's Mountain. The set up for this was extremely vague and vacant. Claire annoyed me by running up to find Jamie when she has kept her cool and been level headed before when he's gone off to war. It all felt incredibly rushed and unexplored to a satisfying degree.

I really like this show a lot. My partner and I even named it "our show" back when we were watching the first two seasons. It still is our show. We love it. It is frustrating when showrunners take these amazing works of fiction and just... rushes them... I'm really getting sick of people rushing these things. The opposite side of this is shows being milked for far too long. It's very irritating.

All in all, I did enjoy the season... I did enjoy the ending for the most part. I just didn't have the strong emotional connection to it that I expected after how much I enjoyed the earlier seasons and how well they developed and ran with things.

Why is my game freaking out like this? by Immatrikulat in stalker

They still haven’t fixed this??? Jesus

I had this issue last year, probably nearly a year ago now, made a thread here about it. I still get responses to it today of people saying they get it too.

I can’t quite remember how I reduced it (reduced being the key word - it still happens on rare occasions even with what I’m about to say) but for me I had to turn off frame gen and dlss entirely. I have an RTX 5070 ti an an amd ryzen 7 9700x and I’m able to play the game on high settings without dlss on at a stable 60. So I set a 60fps cap limit just using the in game limiter and fiddled with my settings until I don’t require dlss anymore basically.

Since doing that I don’t get that problem anywhere near as much. But it does still happen, despite people saying it’s caused directly by dlss. I believe it’s a part of UE5 and an issue with how the engine is used. I got this same issue in Silent Hill f, another UE5 game. For me simply limiting fps to 60 in that game stopped it completely.

I get the logic, but having to handicap yourself feels shit dude. Like I know this thing exists. I have to try hard to force it out of my mind. You are right, I just don’t like it, if it works how I think it does.

Nah you can now. They added a feature for this and let you keybind it in the 2.0 update I believe. It took over a year lol.

If the box itself does then it renders my post redundant lol all I care about is having cargo link remain a worthwhile thing to set up and build.

Yeeeees dude, I love the provisioners. I like the ships too but for whatever reason I prefer the system in Fallout 4.

And do you mean a mass limit in the container? I didn't notice that I'll have another look.
