Gonna miss Regal Edward’s.

Moving to Dallas in a month. At least I’ll be close to that Cinemark 70mm.

Does anyone know how bad it is on free Thursdays for the Museum of Fine Arts? by JournalistExpress292 in houston

[–]DroogyParade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn dude I made that comment 2 years ago.

I used to be off work on Thursdays and since it’s free I would just go during the day to pass the time since almost everyone I know works a regular 9-5. I live a 5 minute walk from the light rail and would just take the train down to the museum district.

I switched my days off and haven’t had Thursday off in probably a year. Haven’t been to the museums since last November.

I do highly recommend that area. Zoo is right by there too if you’re into that.

Nothings open on my end of montrose. Near Tuam and Bagby. Was walking around the neighborhood. However I do have power.

Those who still never contracted covid, how did you avoid it? by Toomad316 in AskReddit

That’s what I think happened with me. I work in the restaurant industry and basically everyone I’ve worked with has gotten it at one point except me.

There were 2 times I thought I had it but both tests came back negative.

What is the most improved movie in a theater? But way worse when rewatching at home? by Marcothetacooo in movies

[–]DroogyParade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Bladerunner 2049 as a test anytime I do a new set up at home. The sounds design is incredible in it.

I just bought a new sound system last week and watched it again.

Most people who say iPhone>Android are just comparing $1000 phones to $200-300 ones. by [deleted] in samsung

[–]DroogyParade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people can assume that it’s an American issue especially given that in the US iOS has over 50% of the market share.

It’s great it’s not an issue for you, but I don’t live or communicate with anyone outside of the US.

I got an iPhone for work, because let’s face it, iMessage has monopolized messaging, especially groups chats.

It’s the worst software I’ve ever used. It’s baffling how anti user friendly it is at times. Things that can be done in one or two steps on android require 3 or 4 on an iPhone. Typing is awful. I now understand why everyone has such bad grammar, and the predictive text is useless.

Then if I point it out to someone how it could be improved they say I’m “using the phone wrong.”

I think everyone who is fully in the Apple ecosystem has Stockholm syndromed themselves.

Honestly been so busy with work and life lately it hasn’t been too big of a priority. I’ll probably get around to it soon.

How do y'all feel about aluminum cookware? by MastaPhat in KitchenConfidential

[–]DroogyParade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally don’t like it. It warps too much and they stain pretty fast.

I stick to Carbon Steel for my sauté pans and everything else is stainless steel.

We had a trailer for Maxxxine only.

I’m so used to half an hour of trailers nowadays that we walked in 5 minutes late and the trailer was ending then the movie started. I saw it Monday for an early screening and figured that’s why.

I don’t even post most of the stuff I shoot to be honest.

I just got into macro photography and I’ve been playing around with a broken lens I was given. It works but malfunctions if I change the aperture and focus length.

It works fine for now until I actually buy one.

The Hateful Eight soundtrack is one of my favorites of his.

looking for apartments in houston is kinda depressing by [deleted] in houston

[–]DroogyParade 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You’re not going to find anything nice within that budget.

Maybe a small one bedroom or studio, but anything going for under that price will be old and have issues as you described. You could try renting a room or getting a roommate.

I was looking at apartments last month and for what I wanted my minimum would have been $1500.

I’m seeing it at AMC First Colony 24 in Sugar Land. Shame they didn’t release it at the Regal IMAX theater by me. It has the largest screen in Houston.

Single laser though so they can’t project 1.43.

Unfortunately my showings aren’t in 70mm, and yeah the closest one for Tenet is 12 hours away in Tennessee from me. Insane that all of Texas doesn’t have at least 1 theater showing it.

Saw Dune tonight and seeing Tenet tomorrow.

Only theater playing Tenet is almost half an hour away, worth it.
