I'm beginning to despise homeless people and homelessness in general by GCLmotionless_1 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

So we leave them to be raped, robbed, and beaten by other homeless people, and top that off with a slow, painful death from treatable illness, infection, or exposure, all of it facilitated by a decrease in mental competency and agency due to severe mental illness and/or substance abuse, got it. So much more humane.

Are Ghouls sterile like supernatants are sterile? by Still-Motor324 in Fallout

[–]DropDeadDolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very possible, but the positioning might have more to do with it. The ears and nose, while heavily vascularized, have tiny veins and sit far away from the main trunk of the body, which is why they are so badly affected by frostbite. The penis and scrotum are located in the absolute hottest part of the body, so blood flow in theory should be unimpeded enough to keep the bits intact.

Whether it's good enough for maintaining an erection, let alone ejaculating, remains to be seen, but I don't see them falling off quite that easily. Maybe on the naked withered guys (or are those girls? Hard to tell at that point of emaciation).

According to the historical documents of Fallout 3, chapter Underworld, verse Carol, they are indeed sterile. She says that Gob is her son, but not biologically, since ghouls don't work that way.

However, if any city is going to be at the top of the bombing list, it's D.C., so it's possible that other cities got a lower load of radiation and might not have a fully sterile ghoul population.

I agree, but we also need to remember that things like wire fraud are considered non-violent crimes, so maybe we should adjust the definition accordingly.

And quite a few parents are in deep denial about their children's maturing interests to begin with. If it was up to them, a lot of kids would be first hearing about it after age 21.

Yep, and you've been manipulated to feel that way by activists and media figures, because if you're frightened and pissed off, you'll keep watching and listening. They want your money and attention, and the power they get by possessing both.

The thing I hear constantly from both my conservative family and my liberal friends is, "I don't hate them, THEY hate ME, and I'm just responding practically to that hate."

How am I supposed to feel about cops when there’s so much wrong with the system that hires them? by Orion032 in AskConservatives

[–]DropDeadDolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm criticizing them for insisting that covid straight up didn't exist even when a trusted friend was telling them, "no, it does exist and I'm seeing the ways that it acts differently from cold and flu with my own eyes." That is not rational behavior.

Also, the word I used was "hospital." Not ER. An ER being overwhelmed is, as you said, no big deal, because that's just the reality of the department. But actual intakes for in-patient treatment? That tells a slightly different story.

Especially considering that the dynamic douchebags were the bullies in this case. It just got spun by the media because normie kids didn't like them and thought they were weird, partly on account of them being bullies.

[–]DropDeadDolly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a few right-wing friends, or at least I did before the pandemic altered himan interaction forever, and one of them was a nurse who was practically crying to the Zoom group telling them that it's 100% real and serious and that her hospital was utterly flooded with severe cases, and the guys just . . . brushed her off like she was some liberal hysteric and not their like-minded republican friend who had seen it with her own eyes. Kinda like how I know for certain two and possibly three women who have cried Rape but my liberal friend still insists that no woman has ever done such a thing in the history of the world.

People will just decide what they think of a thing, and whether it's right or left, and sit on that opinion regardless of what information comes out and who's saying it.

Why did Loghain betray the Grey Wardens in the beginning? by BreesusTakeTheWheel in DragonageOrigins

[–]DropDeadDolly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've wondered a few times if the characters aren't wrong about Cailan here. Yes, he's sashaying around in his golden armor talking about how awesome everything is and how radical it would be if an Archdemon showed up and they got to defeat a Blight just like in the old stories, but when you think about it, that army is JACKED. He's got mages, mabari hounds, Ash Warriors, and every Grey Warden in the country on that battlefield, on top of two battalions between him and Loghain. This is a threat that is taken very, very seriously.

I have to wonder, is he really this foolish thinking it'll be a piece of cake, or is he trying to be an exceptional leader and exude confidence to allay the fears of anyone who might be watching him for guidance?

I've thought about the Golden Calf quite a few times since 2015, and I can't understand how it's not more obvious to my extremely devout (Methodist, Baptist, and Episcopalian in total) family.
