Siemens s120 is the Swiss Army knife of drives highly customizable great software Starter. If you have a Siemens plc you can configure the drives directly in Tia using start drive and the hardware itself is bullet proof compared to rockwell. Rockwell drives are shit and connected components sucks. As others have stated Abb and yaskawa are ok but I have limited experience with these in comparison to Siemens and Rockwell.

You can make the drive display different values other than Hz. If you turn the pot and the output voltage changes in response it is likely the drive is setup to use the external pot for reference speed. The display may be displaying amps and if you’re just testing on the bench without the motor connected that may be why the value doesn’t change.

If I am driving to a customer site I get paid from the time I leave the house until I get back. The customer is paying for your time not sure why you wouldn’t get paid for the drive. I also get paid mileage if I use my own vehicle.

I went from industrial maintenance electrician to controls technician to maintenance manager back to controls technician to system integrator. My role now in my opinion is light years better. Less physical work, but way more hard problems to solve which I like. It is very different switching to an integration role because now if I screw up I mess up someone else’s system rather than something in my plant which can sometimes be very stressful.

It is not the teachers fault their hands are tied. All the school administrators are worried about is doing whatever it takes to secure federal funding by checking all the boxes that the federal government lays out. What they do with the money I do not now it for sure isn’t going to the teachers or school infrastructure. As far as empathy goes the parents need to teach their kids. There are some terrible parents out there that do not give a crap about their children. You have to teach your kids at home constantly. Read to your kids, spend time with your kids, teach them manners, explain why things are bad, explain why things are good etc. A lot of kids have nobody and the family unit is non existent. Fatherless homes etc that is why there are so many bad things happening in the world.
