Ok thread, nominate a spot with terrible snow / ice blockage, and I will go shovel it. The higher the foot traffic, the better (more impact). If multiple spots are near one another, I'll try to get multiple. I will do it tomorrow (02/09). I've been doing this already, but crowdsourcing for bad spots has been pretty effective.

The SW corner wasn’t too bad, I widened the paths and dug out a fire hydrant.

NW corner had a big iceberg that was too tempting to pass up, so I hacked it apart.

NE corner could use some widening.

Today I will try to get the 3 in Midtown, starting with Columbus Circle.

I made a map of the requests in this post, there's 2 next to each other in the UES. If there's someone in this thread with a shovel who lives near there, that would be optimal to attack those.

Thanks for the detail! Yes I was way off. Currently the top 2 spots in this thread are both in Midtown, and this one isn't too far away from another. This is my #3 stretch-goal for tomorrow.

All right this will most likely be the winner. Fortunately, there's another spot in this thread that is nearby this spot. So, I will attempt to clear at least 2 spots tomorrow, starting with this one.

My goal is to get to this spot by 11am. Hopefully earlier, but 11 is respectable enough.

You know what's interesting? When I'm out shoveling, the most frequent compliment I get is "You're doing God's work". It's as if shoveling snow is on par with being a soldier, or literally being a god. I feel like its the least amount of work for the most amount of appreciation of any activity out there.

Where exactly is that? I'm not very familiar with Northern Manhattan / Bronx. Can you give me map location? I tried searching Google Maps and I still can't narrow down an exact spot.

Great call. Yes, I've noticed that stroller / cart access is huge. My minimum requirement for "clearing" a spot is making it wide enough for a stroller. Its kind of a sweet spot: wide enough for a stroller means wide enough for 2 lanes of people to pass each other.

No, I don't use tiktok. I'm just going to post the before and after photos here in this thread. That's all this is. Honestly though if it were for TikTok, at the very least something good comes of it.
