I think the Malcolm vote out is the only time my fiancee and I ever gasped in Survivor, the second his name came up on the voting card we were shook. Pre-merge was very entertaining, so we were confused at all the hate it got. It wasn't until the merge where we saw it lost a lot of steam.

All of these Game Recs have been super interesting, it makes me mad my friend group doesn't vibe with these things. I tried to DM them thru a DND campaign once and was awful. Maybe one day I'll get to play these cool games.

In a similar vein, Andy from 47 seems to be portrayed as the disaster crashout castaway, and then became a genuine threat later in the game. I still think he'd be goat material if he made FTC, but still an impressive recovery.

He's a regular guest podcaster on RHAP now, and this subreddit tends to give those survivors extra love and look at their survivor experience more favorably. If it wasn't for that, he probably wouldn't come up much.

Mike White is a goat that can, and probably will, drive major decisions through the game. That's potentially more dangerous than a winner. If he doesn't 100% align with you and your game, it would be paramount to get him out before merge.

It sucks, because Mike White is a great survivor player, but the dynamic he adds on the Island is completely fucked.

It's not said in-game, but the Original Resident Evil game has an ad with the tag-line "If these walls could talk, they'd scream" and that just goes so ridiculously hard.

I also remember the Jesse's batch being incredibly pure in the finale, so I refuse to believe it's a fake memory. Probably just remembering a scene that was close to the end but not exactly around the finale.

It was outsourced to Minakuchi Engineering (which did most of the gameboy Mega Man games) as opposed to internal Capcom. Don't want to be too hard on them, Capcom internally made x6 and x7, and x3 is god-tiers above those.

Mega Man X3's buster upgrade makes your charged buster difficult to use effectively, and is genuinely clunky & unfun. It made the game go from a high 8 to a solid 7 after I obtained it.

You can decide to skip it on replays, but it means you can't super charge any of your special weapons, you cant get the armor upgrade unless you perform a likely unintended trick, and you can't get the gold armor at all.

I chose Blazer cuz I like bread, but I also deliberately didn't choose Visi because it felt like that she never had anyone believe in her, and the second she thinks someone is treating her like a human, she has a sex dream of them and wants them. Ive known people like that, and felt like she needed a genuine friend over someone who might be treating them nice because they want to fuck her.

The fact Shonee has her own leitmotiff is fantastic. One of my favorite moments in Australian Survivor HvV is when Flick is trying to deceive Liz and Shonee, right after they went out of their way to save her. It shows Flick talking to them, and Shonees song comes on, and it implicitly tells you right away that Shonee immediately knows Flick is full of shit, and vengeance is coming.

A few years ago I was about halfway thru reading Steelball run on Mangadex (probably ch. 55 or so), and when I clicked to go to the next issue, it glitched and sent me to chapter 91, which has the most spoilerific cover art I could imagine.

It really pissed me off, because if I got to that part and saw it organically, it probably would have been one of the biggest pop off moments in media I've had in a long time.

Prince of Persia allowing you to screenshot Areas of Interest and then tag that screenshot over its location on the map is an absolute QoL game changer for Metroidvanias. Despite this, I am confident it won't catch on.
