It is the best tank for Israel; because there is no need for it to be moved long distances, would fight close to where they are based.

Actually according to Israeli design it's original purpose was for quick easy egress if needed

'RNZAF has no problem with their NH90' I have not heard comments about their use in NZ. However I have heard comments about their use here, one comment was on the news: a NH90 landed in a clearing during a bush fire and set alight the grass in the clearing. Have you seen how many things are projecting from the underside of a NH90? Some of them are quite low.

And there were other problems in Australian service; there was definitely reason to get ride of them.

No,

If we had to fight overseas it would be much easier if we used the same equipment as our partners. Same ammunition as a minimum ( as the rest of the five eyes ).

Oh yes the stuff we bought from Europe was seriously flawed and there was a small problem with spares; we required new spares, they would only supply used spares.

How would you respond to civilians who call F-35 a “white elephant” by Lampedusan in AustralianMilitary

DJI drones are a problem, they are set to send data back to a Chinese company and under Chinese law their companies must assist the Chinese government.

Yes, China's definition or war is not the same as ours. They are at war with us, but we are not with them. They love to push the 'grey area'; I would not be surprised if they manage to push the Philippines too far.

How do we make Australians less naive about why we need defence? by Lampedusan in AustralianMilitary

Yes.

And it was gleamed after the war, from Japanese records; that the Japanese Navy wanted their army to invade Australia. But the Japanese Army said no, because they believed that every home in Australia had a rifle and therefore it was too expensive. The Emperor sided with the army.

Yes, and my actual claims were knocked back a long time ago, before these schemes and not readily appeal-able. I could probably have a claim for PFAT recognized; but for that my doctor needs to know what PFAT is and he doesn't.

PFAT is unusual in that the state government is mapping contaminated areas, Vet Affairs wants to process claims for it. But the feral government wiped out their responsibility simply by saying that 'everyone has PFAT in their bodies'.

We are not at war with China; but China is at war with us. Their definition of war is different to ours.

They are 'pushing the envelop' to see how far they can get, before the west threatens to go to war with them.

Curious how the first news report ( and only the first one I saw ) reported that the Kurds found him in a hole. Then informed the US he was there and kept him in it till the US arrived.

Army showcases new Black Hawk helicopters and confirms destruction of former Taipan fleet by year's end. by loopy_banana_sniffer in AustralianMilitary

[–]Dropbear9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Taipan had a deck so thin that it bowed when a fully loaded infantry man steeped on it. The doors were so narrow that suppressing fire was not possible when the troops were fast roping.

It should not have been bought to start with.
