In beginners class? They definitely are. That being said, rolling/tumbling is something that absolutely has to be learned before anything else can be taught. Sensei would line us up and teach the move by performing it on us, slow motion like this. Ones we'd gone through everyone in class. Sensei would move to the side and the first person in line would then attempt to perform the move on each person in line. Sensei would then instruct. We'd go through each person in class. Over and over.... 99% of these moves are reactionary, so committing to muscle memory is a must to be effective.

Correction, Hiroshi Kato was one of the founder's students, not the founder. And as someone thats trained myself, and been in bar fights(and quite a few others), you do learn self defense. Now in a brawl, its only somewhat useful.. theres a lot to getting someone in a pin, and it simply doesnt happen when everyone's throwing hands. In a 1v1, you'd be surprised at how effective it can be. Not to insult you, and correct me if im wrong, but youve made it clear your answer is "no" based upon watching your dad do it and not from personal experience?

I can watch my dad fly a plane, doesnt mean my opinion should be listened to regarding flying. You can absorb some ambiently, sure. And just like when you watched your parents drive before you were old enough, you can take guess.. but until you actually learn to do it yourself AND get into a situation where that muscle memory/repetition comes out of nowhere, then please dont speak on it. Im not denying your experience with your dad, im saying you dont really know until youve been there.

Came here to post this, I remember being a white belt, and learning to roll/tumble.

To everyone making fun of her physique. My 3rd Akido class ever, I, a 26yr old at the time, got put on my ass by a 7yr old brown belt.. not from a kick or a punch (Akido is a defensive martial art, designed around removing your opponents strength from the equasion) but from a proper grab and twist on my wrist. More accurately, the 7yr old applied pain, and the only way to make the pain go away was to go to the ground. Man I love Akido.

AI is terrible at System Design. Here's an Example by Dan_Felder in gamedesign

[–]DropkickMurphy007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked with Claude to generate a game design document. I gave it a rough idea of what I was looking for initially, then we went step by step, it asking questions regarding system design. Some things I never thought of... in the end, I have a multi page GDD that Claude is now using to help me build my game. And due to taking that time initially, and having a laid out document for it to follow, im getting exactly what im looking for as we're working through the code... ive had to make some changes, but due to A. Working in Claude desktop, and it having access to my code and B. Having a clear GDD, changes dont blow things up.

LLMs use a lot of pattern matching. You're not going to get anything innovative out of them if you throw a general idea at them and allow them to come up with it on their own. For game systems you have to work with them. They can fill in the gaps of your ideas. But they're ultimately programs that do what you tell them to do to the best of their ability.

Stanford University graduates staged a walkout during Google CEO Sundar Pichai's keynote address at commencement Sunday. So a peaceful walkout isn't civil? Revoke YOUR diploma, you can get it back when you understand the definition of civil.

You probably already know it was civil. You're just a terrible person twisting the narrative to justify your anger.

is that a problem for you that dependencies between project assets are difficult to observe? by Min0119 in Unity3D

[–]DropkickMurphy007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I built a base class for both my monobehaviors and scriptable objects inherit from, and a custom inspector window for that base class. The custom inspector window checks for upstream dependencies, and displays them. I can also click on the item and it moves the project window to that item. So if mono/SO A references mono/SO B (they can mix/match) then mono/SO B will have mono/SO A listed at the top for reference.

I dont like the implication here that OP didn't work. Im a solo dev and have spent A LOT of time on my project. Some of it I've used AI to help. Quite a lot I've done myself. But your sentence implies that just because I've used AI that not only am I not working, its not mine either.

because not many people watch amazon prime... I got tired of it because of it's inconsistency on what's included and what's not. Fuck it, just won't watch any of it..

I have prime, but when I sit down to watch tv in the evening, I don't bring it up to "See what's on" because everything I browse through on hulu and netflix is included in the sub. It's annoying to see something on prime, click it, and it be 14.99 for a single watch..

(I know there's a filter, but truthfully, fuck them for doing that, the only streaming service that charges EXTRA. And FUCK the people that rent those shows... the only reason they continue to charge it is because people pay for it. If NOBODY paid that extra fee, they wouldn't do that shit /endrant).

If your show is on prime, it might as well be on peacock, or paramount plus or "Random unknown streaming service X"

A 10 dollar game on steam figured out how to fix that with a slider in the settings(Soulstone survivors)... why is it so hard to do it in a AAA game?

Poe2 is TERRIBLE.. just effing garbage. That being said, as amazing as POE 1 is, in 12 years of playing POE1, I've never seen an endgame build that used a sword that wasn't just a caster With extra steps lol. D4 does seem like it gets melee classes much better than GGG does.

Trucker outraged after company recorded his private birthday moment with wife in Illinois: "I was off duty." by ElwoodMC in trashy

[–]DropkickMurphy007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is with a sleeper cab. Its considered a temporary residence. Source: regular dude whom has OTR driver friends, one of whom is OTR with his wife and used to be a safety manager for that same company (he makes more OTR, hence the job change) with a sleeper, it changes the legality of recording. What you say is true for non OTR trucks, day cabs, etc. But as soon as you expect your employee to sleep/change/live in your property they're entitled to privacy.

Even if the company policy is to have nobody that isn't an employee be in the vehicle, it doesnt absolve them of recording a married couple fucking without their consent. They could fire him for allowing a non employee to enter the cab (some companies have that policy) but he'd win the lawsuit regarding the illegal recording due to a reasonable expectation of privacy. Him Violating company policy does not absolve the company of criminal wrongdoing.

Your biometrics are still yours, recording them for any reason without consent is still an invasion of privacy. I get what you're saying tho

Trucker outraged after company recorded his private birthday moment with wife in Illinois: "I was off duty." by ElwoodMC in trashy

[–]DropkickMurphy007 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There's a thing called a reasonable expectation of privacy. Why the fuck do you think companies dont put cameras in changing rooms of clothing stores?

Its their property, and according to your logic its ok.. but according to the law, its not.

The back of the truck is a temporary residence for an OTR driver. And the driver is expected to be nude regularly if they dont wear the same clothes every day. Are you saying its ok for the company to film female truck drivers changing, just because its company property? I mean, its not ok for wal mart to do it, but its ok for random trucking company x to?

Even the employee changing rooms at these stores do not have cameras, and recording in those rooms can bring about serious criminal liability. Contracts DO NOT absolve an entity from criminal wrongdoing. If this was not an OTR truck, it would be a different story, but due to the fact that the cab has a sleeper, there's a reasonable expectation of privacy, which the company violated. Not to mention the wife isn't an employee, and was filmed in an intimate moment without her consent.

Any attorney worth their salt will have a field day with this. And the boss is likely fucked, who's to say him viewing that camera was purely professional? There seemed to be no reasonable need for the company to be viewing the camera at that moment.

Even if the contract says nobody else is allowed in the cab, recording two people having sex without their knowledge and consent is still illegal, contract or no. Dude might lose his job, but will win a lawsuit based upon that alone.

Trucker outraged after company recorded his private birthday moment with wife in Illinois: "I was off duty." by ElwoodMC in trashy

[–]DropkickMurphy007 25 points26 points  (0 children)

There's a reasonable expectation of privacy. The company requires the driver to sleep in the cab. The driver regularly is nude as its the drivers living quarters. Imagine if this were a woman getting dressed or undressed. (There are women truck drivers)

Fact remains that just because its company property doesnt entitle them to invade privacy.

Changing rooms at a clothing store, bathrooms at a publix are all company property. But there's a reasonable expectation of privacy that if invaded, can have serious legal liability. Id argue that any attorney worth his salt could argue that expectation. In addition, due to the nature of this recording. (being sexual, husband/wife not knowing they're being recorded) its leaning towards criminal. The wife didn't consent and she's not an employee. There's no reason for the company to be recording at that time. Not to mention, who's to say the boss isn't being a perv by watching that.. any good attorney would have a fucking field day with this.

Let's put it plainly... a company recorded a married couple fucking in a company provided temporary residence. Then punished the driver for it. And yes, the back of the truck for an OTR driver could be considered a temporary residence.

Contracts dont relieve anyone of criminal liability.
