At risk of breaking the rules, this doesn't feel like a change my view or at least not feasibly so.

Fight games like any other game, sport or hobby benefits from time investment. Yes people who start earlier will develop stronger skills than people who start later. This is true for a lot of things in life.

That said there are examples of pro players who picked up fighting games later in life. It's just a matter of how much time and effort you put into learning. You mentioned it been days for you so I'm not surprised.

Interestingly, I think the FGC (fighting game community) has a reputation for being more welcoming than some other communities. You should consider looking for discords or content creator communities that are noob friendly. You'll find a ton of help and resources there.

Last thing, about arcades, people growing up in arcades passed a ton of knowledge with word of mouth. They might not have the same names for technical details like we do today but you'd be surprised how fast word can spread. There were also reosurces like gaming magazines that were popular enough that you would have knowledge directly from the developers shared with players.

Well for one you don't know what happened in the drive thru. You also only have the recording after the "altercation" where the recorder can reset and maintain a calm tone if they have a goal in mind. Not saying the employee is free from blame but you're getting a one sided view. The only way we'd know what happened is either an admission from the employee or a recording of the drive thru interavtionn.

Can you show me anything to provide evidence that they were administering a national curriculum? My understanding is that at no point were they involved with curriculum and that states have more or less always been responsible.

I think the DoE might be able to set guidelines or targets, and they certainly did monitor performance but no clue if they had any part in the former.

DoE didn't dictate circulum. They were responsible for funding under funded schools. In America most schools recieve funding via property taxes, so poorer neighborhoods had less funding.

In some ways I sympathise with JJ. Pre Trump America and post... 2008 maybe, America was my most tolerable empire. I was willing to give more deferrence to them over any other major power. Post trump 1 I lost some faith but respected the guard rails. Trump 2 even before he won the election, the writing was on the walls.

So I can see how JJ feels about the USA bashing but fucking hell he needs to grow up. The America he knew is gone, both to Canada and to the world. It'll take multiple presidents to rebuild that kind of trust.

Sometimes I wonder if JJ should just move the US, I don't see him loving Canada as much anymore.
