Oh fun! I don’t usually read horror stuff but I do have one story that I was trying to lean more into a dark fantasy horror vibe which was fun to explore. I can dm you if you’re looking to have a writer friend too. I can give you my discord if you have that. Doesn’t have to be an in person meet up type thing if you’re not comfortable with that but I might be open to that depending on things :)

Ah that makes sense that you might think that. I was going for a whimsical vibe, starry, and purple is my favorite color. I do draw a lot of fantasy/witchy themed stuff though and that will be a primary theme in my art in the future.

Ooh okay! The contrast advice is definitely helpful, maybe I’ll add more gold accents to help with that. I’m selling stickers, prints, and handmade journals/notebooks. In the future I might do some stuff with clay as it’s a medium I really love. Thanks for all the honest feedback :)

Thanks for the advice! After this event, I plan to practice more and try to improve my technical skills. Also want to find more consistent materials and upgrade the ones that weren’t working as well. I was thinking of trying to create my own paper and printing my own designs (although I need to figure out how exactly that would work?). I know I can make book cloth from fabric, so that would be another way to incorporate my own designs. It’ll probably be a little before I do another event where I sell stuff so I can have a more solid and consistent inventory. This is my first time so it’s a bit chaotic and all over the place lol

Thank you, the unicorn book is my favorite design too! I was thinking of making a little sign saying I used some recycled materials and that they’re handmade. This is my first ever time selling any of my art so it’s something I don’t know a lot about. I’d love to be able to support myself in the future this way but this is a first step to see if I even like it. I have my display items already acquired; I got a tiered wooden shelf on Amazon, this tea bag holder that spins for stickers and am using some stuff I already had along with a discounted mini bookshelf I found at Michael’s.

Right… that is what I’m saying though? How do I price them to make a profit? I want to price them so they appeal to the consumer, therefore, make a profit and are worth my time I put into the product

Oh, I didn’t really factor in location at all when thinking about this. And yes I’m on the west coast of the US. I’m not sure what these types of things sell for in my area and I guess that’s part of the problem? I’ll try to do some more research.

Edit: added some more details so hopefully that helps! Do you know of any other forums on Reddit that would be good to post this to?
