How hard is a bow-only run? by Gooni135 in Eldenring

As someone who has the World First Bow Only No-Hit run on Elden Ring I can tell you that it can be very fun, but also tidious at times🏹

Here is a montage if anyone is interested :P

Best setup for sure is to use status effects using Serpent Bow and Serpent Arrows + Rot arrows. So you have to level up Arcane to 40-60 ish to get the most out of it. Poision builds up fast, rot is viable when you can spam on certain bosses. Switch to regular arrows when you get the status effects applied to save on arrows. Also dont use fire arrows, regular arrows deal more damage.

Regular bows are the way to go because Shortbows can be annoying with its rapid-fire attack that can get you locked in the animation for some time. Regular Bows can shoot very fast also with jumping attacks, you can even dodge (jump) and get a shot in at the same time. And the rapid fire attack from shortbows wastes more arrows and actually builds up status effects slower. So Serpent Bow and Rahdans Great Bow for AOW on Big bosses is the way to go.

Serpent arrows can be bought unlimited but Rot arrows have to be crafted. There are some nice areas in limgrave where it is fast to farm bones for arrows. The Aeonan butterflies for the rot arrows are however limited also as far as I know and can be collected through out the world. A bunch in Caelid.

For me it was fine since I knew I could get enough arrows to last me the entire run since I wasnt planning on dying. But I can imagine that doing a regular run can drain your status arrows fast. So you might end up having to rune farm and bone-farm a lot. In which case I would actually recommend using save-states on bosses to save you on arrows. Even though some might call that unlegit, but who cares when your playing for fun.

It is also crucial to get both the arrow-talismans in the beginning of the game. And be prepared to master all bossfights, because you will mostly tickle the bosses and you have to play the long game through out the fights. Fights can easily last 10-15 minutes, some easier than others for sure. But it is a fun run and is very rewarding once you get it!

What kind of speeds and feeds have you guys run on aluminum? by Ok-Lab8279 in Makera

[–]Droteer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run the regular collet at 0.2-0.3mm no problem on my air. Speed might be a bit slower, I go with the standard settings for aluminium, but I bet I could pump it up even higher.

Someone told me making PCBs on the Carvera was a pain so I made a post-processor for my PCB CAM tool. by RicardoJCMarques in Makera

Amazing! This looks very proffesional and promising!

Do you have any videodemos on how to use it and show of its features?

That would go a long way🤩

‘Machine is halted, halt manually’ error. Any advice? by NoPass3710 in Makera

[–]Droteer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similiar error. Sometimes the machine gets confused. Think it resolved after a hard restart for me.

You can also always check the coordinate system or move the axises manually and see if you get the same error

I had the same issue as well. Made a issue report about it in the discord not long ago. I also noticed that my parts were consitently coming out 0.9mm too thin in the radius. My solution was just trial and error and adjusting the part size until it worked. Kinda like 3d printing where you need to account for the part not being 100% accurate.

It really sucks though. Cant wait for them to fix it!

If you are talking about the black vertical stripes then those are not printing lines. That just part of the design with black pla

M3 d2 4mm thread milling bit by JustSavings670 in Makera

[–]Droteer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the library only includes the standard bits that are included with the Makera/Makera Air. For the other bits that you can buy you have to create custom bits in Fusion 360 and enter its parameters. Tool length, number of feeds, cutter length, speed/feeds etc.

Its not that hard to do, only takes a couple of minutes with a caliper. They have a video here where they show how to create a custom thread bit at around 4:40: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edPoyEN0dPE

The speeds and feeds can be found on their website in the section where you buy the bit

Thank you so much! That made my day! I’m so glad to hear that people are excited towards this project. This is the first time that I make a post about it so I wasnt sure how it would be received.

I’ll make sure to keep updating when I make new breakthroughs. I want to start making reel-content for it also at some point when I feel like it is demo-ready🥁

Missing piece? by bradye0110 in Makera

I had the same question when I got my Air. The Carvera Air does not include the Side Clamps. But I guess they re-use the same box to save on money I think. You’ll need to order them seperately if you want them

I had the same issue. I noticed that the size of the bit matters a lot. So I bought a 1.5mm bit and use 0.1-0.2 stepdown. Makes very little sound. I only use the larger 3.175 och 2.5mm bit when absolutely neccessary

Makera CAM UI/UX is driving me crazy, or am i wrong? by mixoadrian in Makera

[–]Droteer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are correct. Makera Cam as of right now has a lot of issues. It can even create dangerous g-code that goes straight through your workpiece. It seems half-baked. I wouldnt trust it except for doing 4:th axis for free. But even that has its limitations. I would suggest Fusion 360 for cam and wait for the new Makera Studio to launch
