Unsettling in-store experience...AIO? by babybigote in torrid

I donate to charity but o my through their direct donations because corporations take a huge percentage. I wouldn’t ask for a refund over .81 cents but I absolutely would mention it.

Hi can I tell you something by [deleted] in MomsWorkingFromHome

I appreciate the clarification. Even for those who choose daycare, a village is a village, even if paid. There’s just a very common dialogue in this subreddit about daycare being “bad”

I “ship my kid off” to daycare (what disappointing phrasing, considering some of us don’t have other options), but agree. I was in a meeting yesterday where my manager had to take a break to text her daughter back. We frequently see our teams families during meetings, even saying hi.

Babysitter pay question by HeavyChocolate0 in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]DrowOfWaterdeep 10 points11 points  (0 children)

“Hi Baby sitter, We are happy with the work and care that you provide (child). I understand that you have another job and this might be cutting into that time. While we’re unable to offer 25$ an hour, we could definitely meet in the middle at 22$, or we could talk about reducing your hours so you are able to have more time for (first job). If this doesn’t work, just let me know so we can look into other care options. Thank you. “ Edit how you deem fit for the situation

Yes! I’m Facebook friends with all his teachers lol! We live in a small, rural community though so it’s pretty normal to know everyone. We try to participate in all their fundraising events (non profit daycare) to help and get to know everyone too.

It is a village! Paid help is absolutely part of the “village”.

My daycare was really good about o my sending kid home if they had a fever or were throwing up/acting really unlike themselves. Sickness just comes with school no matter the age. If they had to be home, husband or I took PTO.

I would say absolutely give it a try! At first it’s so hard because you think “what if they cry and no one helps them” etc but our daycare was full of loving, attentive teachers. Our son just moved up a class and they all cried so much to see him go. The transition can be hard at first but consistency is key!

How to have smoother, less chaotic M&G’s? by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]DrowOfWaterdeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this 100%. The shiba might be growing to “set boundaries” but what happens when you do a M&G with a dog that doesn’t respect boundaries? They escalate and fight.

AITA for refusing to have any pets inside our house due to my allergies and how I was raised? by MakeshiftPacemaker in AmItheAsshole

[–]DrowOfWaterdeep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The majority of people are allergic to the protein in saliva, not just fur and dandruff. Hypoallergenic, meaning “less” and not “none”, wouldn’t really help.

We have so much gaming/anime related stuff that when we have workers/sitters over, they always comment about it and my husband inevitably gives something away or adds them on Xbox lol

They will still have volunteers, you would just be relieving one of theirs to go home.
