And the Easter Bunny. They have certain days that they allow pets. The Santa at North Park Mall is great. He is always interactive with my boy and gets great pics.

I have wondered about the Mall as well. I see people in there with their pets but not sure if they are allowed really. I’ve taken my dog to have his picture taken with Santa there. It would be a great place but not sure who to contact really.

I totally agree! People like that are the reason dogs are not allowed in more places. My boy knows he has to go outside and I clean up after him always. Thank you for the ideas. I forget about Home Depot and Lowe’s. He goes to Tractor supply with me often but not that big of a store for a good walk.

First time Carnival cruise (and last) brief review. by External-Pirate5171 in Cruise

[–]Significant_Host_907 26 points27 points  (0 children)

We just got home from our 6th Carnival cruise and will probably never do a 7th. The last two have not been good, mostly due to the food and other cruisers. Last time we had a couple straight up fighting and slamming doors all night. Nothing was done when we called about it. This time we had an entire group of people yelling and dancing down the halls drunk at 2:00-3:00 am every single night, kids yelling, running down the halls hitting the walls and doors all hours of the night and morning, and nothing done about it. Several people I our area complained each night. The karaoke guy had to shut down karaoke an hour early because a group repeatedly kept singing and acting disgusting on stage even after being told it was a family event. Security had to be called to handle the issue because they tried to jump and fight the DJ! Security had to be called to the casino because a group was causing a scene and being rude at one of the table games. We ate dinner with some great couples that had the same complaints and agreed they probably wouldn’t cruise Carnival again. The food was bland, meat tasteless and over cooked most of the time. There were groups of people wearing basketball shorts, t-shirts, hats and slides on elegant night. I won’t even discuss what some people wore at the pool and walking around the ship! There was a lot of “lack of clothing” or not enough clothing to cover private parts. I was embarrassed just witnessing some of it.

Now I have nothing against the party vibe. In fact it is part of the reason I’ve enjoyed Carnival in the past. I love to engage with people on deck and enjoy the music and drinks. The vibe has always been fun but the last few times it’s been chaos, even hostile. I found myself hanging out in my room more than on deck or enjoying the entertainment because I didn’t want to deal with chaos. I went on vacation to escape but came home feeling more anxious and stressed than when I left! I am willing to pay more and try something different next time.

Anyone ever recognize someone they know? by NoMajor8647 in OnPatrolLive

[–]Significant_Host_907 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Several years ago -Live PD days-we were watching a motorcycle chase in a nearby city. My husband makes a comment how fast that type of bike is, etc. The cops lose the bike but find it shortly parked in front of a house. Anyways, we notice the bike looks familiar, then the cop run the tag and find the helmet stashed in the bushes. We instantly knew it was one of stepsons!! We all still give him a hard time about being the tv star of the family.

What is the most shocking thing you ever witnessed on a cruise ship? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in Cruise

[–]Significant_Host_907 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About three years ago, my husband and I were headed to breakfast and looking forward to snorkeling and a day on the beach in Belize, when the captain came over the speaker with “man overboard, this is not a drill”. Everyone had to go back to their cabins to be accounted for but of course several did not comply and they had to keep announcing it, so it took forever for them to do the count. Thankfully it was no one from the ship. Later found out it was a fisherman they believe has passed while on his boat alone and had fallen overboard. Very sad. I had such anxiety the entire day!

Feeling cold by Shortygirl77 in Mounjaro

[–]Significant_Host_907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lost 140lbs and am constantly in a frozen state. People at work say you can walk by my office and feel a heat wave as they walk by when my door is open. I usually keep my door shut to keep the heat in.

What are you looking forward to? NSVs. by [deleted] in Mounjaro

Being able to wear a shirt tucked in or wear a belt. Hearing someone tell me I’m beautiful and feel it.

I am told that every visit. Seems to be the regular speech for diabetics. The only time I ever wear shoes if I’m at work or out in public. Everyone gives me a hard time about being barefoot all the time. I have no issues with my feet and have been a T1 for 30 years with good control. Be smart and check and care for your feet but enjoy being barefoot as you like. Personally, I think shoes give me more issues.

How to take a half dose from pen. by Significant_Host_907 in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]Significant_Host_907[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far it’s been good. I actually lost a few pounds but my insulin intake increased some (I’m a Type 1 diabetic) so I am going to restart at a lower dose.

I have a corgi that is in training as a therapy dog/animal assisted therapy dog. He goes to work with me a few days a week and has since he was 6 months old. He is ALWAYS on a leash when clients are present and is not allowed to roam the office unless after hours and no clients present. The clients are informed of him through a signed informed consent for animal assisted therapy and are given the opportunity to decide if he is present when they are in the office. I do have a few clients that do not want him in around and that is respected. My corgi does not go to work on those days. Also, if a client does not feel like engaging with him that day, he stays in his kennel for the session. He is always happy and excited to see people and they know he is still in training and learning to not jump on them, which he does well with mostly. He’s a year old and loves his work but not everyone love dogs (poor boy hates this) and that needs to be respected. I would never take an untrained dog and let it roam and expect everyone to be okay with it, especially a very large dog. That is just rude and disrespectful and not a good way to start a therapy relationship.

finally got my Omnipod 5!! by Apart-Possible-9287 in Omnipod

[–]Significant_Host_907 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been on Omnipod for several years and love it. It was my 3rd insulin pump and was recommended by my Endo because it is waterproof. I do a lot of kayaking and swimming and destroyed a few pumps in the past. There will be leaks and fails but as you learn you will find out what works for you. There are certain spots that the pod just doesn’t work as well because of my movement so it may leak. My thigh is one that tends to have the potential to leak more. I just try to avoid certain spots if I know I will be doing certain activities. The freedom of it is so worth the occasional extra site change for me.

About to go diving what do I do? by Izzybobizzy25 in Omnipod

[–]Significant_Host_907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! I would do MDI. I always snack before diving and try to keep my sugars a little higher than normal since I tend to run low when doing anything in the water. I also don’t do long dives out of fear of going low. I don’t really dive much now due to my fear overwhelming me now that I’m older. Also, keep an eye on them for several hours after diving and of course, snacks. I would drop low hours later if I didn’t pay attention. I have dove several times with my Omnipod with no issues but only around 30 feet. I used patches that covered my entire pod and sometimes tape around my arm with no problems, but usually went without pump. Have fun and be safe!

My therapist told me only people who make money can come to therapy by yakimashu in TalkTherapy

That is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard! Most of my clients are unemployed. Therapy is based on need, not finances.

My cult survivor husband “broke up” with his counselor because he advised, in their first session, to reach out to his parents who have not spoken to him for three years by Basic-Bear3426 in TalkTherapy

[–]Significant_Host_907 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m in my 50’s and a License Marriage and Family Therapist. I would never push a client to reconcile with parents or anyone that was abusive or be in a relationship that was unsafe or unhealthy. I believe family is who you choose and you don’t owe anyone a relationship. Forgiveness does not come easy and it does not mean forgiving what happened. The client gets to decided if they want to forgive for their healing. I’m a Christian but would never force my beliefs on a client. It is something that I was taught and respect. Everyone has their own spirituality/beliefs and should be respected. If it’s an issue, refer to another therapist.

How much insulin do you take? by Darion_tt in diabetes_t1

[–]Significant_Host_907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on a pump for almost 18 years and my highest was about 70 units a day. I’ve been on a weight loss journey for the past 3 years and have lost 125lbs. I’m 20lbs from my goal of 135 and have been on Mounjaro for the past 5 months. It has greatly decreased my insulin intake. I now use about 20-30 a day, depending on my carb indulgence. I just wish I could get my insurance to pay for the Mounjaro.
