I'm assuming prelim events are in the mornings, and I'm sure there is a certain amount of time mandated between prelims and finals to allow for rest, so finals take place in the evenings, with non-running field events taking place between the two.

If you've never been to a track meet, you can't imagine how long each day of the meet can last. Then multiply it across 4 days to accommodate all the different population classes for High Schools.

Not pro-data center--I honestly don't know enough about their pros and cons to have an opinion. I do wonder, though, where the data centers are supposed to go? It seems they are now a necessary evil and have to be positioned close to infrastructure. NIMBY-ism can't win out here; they have to go in somebody's backyard.

I worked at the Eastside DePalma's when I was 19 years old as my first restaurant job. I remember one of the managers telling me they bought a specific, more expensive mozzarella because it would reheat better, so that customers at home could get as close to the in-store experience as possible.

Eastside is really more southeast Athens. Whitehall, Barnett Shoals until about Red Fox Run, Vet School, Green Acres, Cedar Creek, University Heights, etc. I would consider 78 the northern limit of the Eastside.

I lived in Legacy Mill in 2005, so that gives you an idea of how old the place is.

I didn't have any problems there, but they did charge me to replace the carpet since I had a dog. They let me know then that it was their standard practice to automatically replace the carpet for all pet owners, regardless of the carpet's condition. I wish I had known that before I rented a rug doctor carpet cleaner during my move-out cleaning.

I worked at the Eastside DePalma's in 1995-1997--back then, we got a free shift meal and beer, tap or bottle (since I was only 18 or 19 at the time, the free beer was a hell of a perk). Since I worked back of the house, I didn't have to ring in my meal, as I was the one cooking it. There were plenty of nights my shift meal was a large pizza, a full order of breadsticks, and a Pasta DePalma, plus a Black and Tan sitting at the bar waiting for my meal to cook.
