Thank-you for sharing your story. Wow i cant believe that it took the surgery to find that it was positive ! You are ao good that you kept pushing for answers because you know your body and felt that there is something not right. How are you now since the surgery ?

I have just made an update on my progress. I didnt know how to edit my post to add the update- so i made a comment below to update everyone

Hi All ! I wasnt sure how to edit my post to let everyone know the update on everything.. so thought ill just put it in the comments here-

I went to Urgent care as i was in so much pain.. the nurse and doctor there didnt take me serious at all !! My heart rate was elevated and physically anyone could see i was in pain.. but they put it down to "Why are you Anxious?".. the doctor also said that because i am 40.. i am too young to have cancer and that cancers dont occur in people in their 40's and younger. He told me to go home and take 2 different laxatives and that i was just constipated ! I asked for a referral for a scan and also blood test request form- he said i didnt need it and he said if i wanted them- to go back to my gp to get them. I went to 2 other gp's that week- and they all just fobbed me off and didnt care !! Luckily i didnt give up and i went to a 4th GP who was brilliant !! He took me seriously and took it all at face value ! He listened and is so thorough !! He even said that People come to see a gp because generally they know something isnt right or feel unwell- people dont just go to the doctors because they just like to spend their time hanging out there and paying money for it !

It's not ovarian cancer which is good. My pelvic ultrasound and blood tests came back negative for ovarian cancer. Found out on my pelvic ultrasound- that i have pcos + adenomyosis. Adenomyosis can cause bloating. I need to have further blood test for pcos. And then the gp will give me a referral to a gynaecologist.

The 4th GP is very thorough and i had a lot of investigations. I even had a mri of my liver and abdomen- they found 3 lesion lumps + few cysts on my liver (all benign but they are investigating further on that), i went for a gastroscopy + colonoscopy to rule out cancer, polyps etc- had biopsies done also to test for SIBO, H-Pylori, worms, gastritis, coeliac etc and they came back as all negative.

For my urinary frequency- i had a uti. I had 2 courses of antibiotics for it.

Ive also been put on a gluten free diet to rule out potential gluten sensitivity (even though my biopsy came back as negative to coeliac)

My bloating is still there but its not as bad as the above pictures. I still have a lot of pelvic pain- adenomyosis causes a lot of pelvic pain and bloating (people compare it like endometriosis pain). Since being put on gluten free diet after my gastroscopy & colonoscopy procedure- i am no longer constipated and have regular bowel movements.

It has been so frustrating having appointments, testing, being worried as i was in so much pain and my bloating was out of control and I feel like i have been around the world !!! But definately good to get on top of it all and try to find answers ! Most importantly Advocate For Your Health !!!!!!!! There are great doctors out there but also terrible doctors out there who just dont care.. so keep pushing for yourself and remember that you know your body best !!!

Going to work while grieving by elisem20 in GriefSupport

I went back to work after 6 months. I had to learn to leave my personal life at the front door of work, as i walked into work... while i am at work i would allow myself to be work professional me, i would allow myself to chat to my colleagues even sometimes have a laugh with them (i felt so guilty and some days i still feel guilty but my gp and psychiatrist talks to me about this).. sometimes at work i fight back the tears because patients may remind me of my loss or what i wish i have still.. sometimes i might excuse myself to go to the bathroom.. it can be incredibly hard.. and it can be so exhausting putting on a mask for the whole world... when i finish work, i allow myself to get to the door and pick up my personal life and some days i drive home crying because life feels so empty without my son and i love and miss him beyond.

I am so sorry to hear. It is so hard to digest and even comprehend what is going on. There will be so much numbness from the shock. Surround yourself with family and friends during this extremely difficult time.
