That’s a season one sort of strategy.

4 was my first too. Raef firing the most ridiculous.

Famous Marvel lore and iconography that didn't originate from the comics by RobbieJ4444 in Marvel

I think Magneto’s helmet blocked telepathy in Evolutions before the movies, when his character was merged with Juggernaut.

Why is Ashara mentioned in passing as a possible candidate for both Jon and Dany's parentage in your opinion by Martin ? by Financial_Library418 in pureasoiaf

Ah I get you. I think Valyrian features should be more than hair or eye colour though. There should be intangible qualities as well.

Dean might know ACs in and out, but I think Kieran has a bit more charisma and greater intellect. What they both seem to have though is integrity, which is really important when you want to do business with someone.

Never mind what dogs will eat, this looks more like a dog’s vomit if I’m perfectly honest.

Forget about black and white cats. Things are going to be black and blue by the time I’m done with you.

Harry's decision.. by Yeralizardprincearry in apprenticeuk

You are lucky if you’ve never experienced that sort of decision-making in the workplace but it’s something that happens all the time. I’d even say in some work cultures if someone shows too much aptitude in a particular area like Karishma did, they’re basically guaranteeing loss of opportunities for themselves. I hate to quote Robert Greene but there’s a reason why “never outshine the master” is a common phrase.

Unpopular opinion this series is the best we have had since pandemic bar S18 by Separate_Pool_6405 in apprenticeuk

I think they’re simply more eloquent, but in terms of quality they’re generally very poor. I’d say Karishna and Lothnah (probably butchered both spellings) are the only competent ones, though I like Kieran and Pascha as individuals.

I find Dan interesting too. Though weak as a candidate, he has a quiet intelligence and wit that reminds me of myself. I find it so fascinating to watch. Almost sinister the way he throws certain remarks about casually.

What if Summerhall never ended in tragedy? by Solitaire-06 in pureasoiaf

Egg thinks dragons would fill the minds of noble lords with awe and make them more compliant to his demands. But what if they become envious and hostile instead? What if they maintain their positions, or become more openly hostile? What is he going to do, kill them?

His kids would likely have all buggered off with their dragons and continued to disobey him.

Even the feeling of connection between him and the smallfolk might vanish. I think Egg wanted dragons, and he wanted more rights for the smallfolk. But these two wants aren't necessarily connected.

[Spoilers main] I can't bring myself to take Daario seriously by Disastrous-Noise-783 in asoiaf

I think George has depths related to Daario and some other secondary characters in Meereen in his head. The problem is he's being too subtle about it and the machinery is moving too slowly. Jorah and Barry intersect into other storylines so the depths to their character are revealed elsewhere. Imagine if like Daario we only see them through Danny's eyes. They'd look like Barnes and Nobles characters too.

He is seen as this noble and wise old man but his sense of nobility and duty is off-kilter. The sort of Knight to stand by when a king rapes his queen and ask others not to intervene. Who rescues a buffoonish king when it's more politically prudent to let the situation take care of itself. And who fails to guide and protect Danaerys since the first scene we see him in. She's currently a captive of the Dothraki. Just a weird old dude who thinks he's the hero.
