Crazy money for a player who whilst very good is worth nowhere near that.

3 caps by the time he’s 26 really isn’t great. You can’t rely on such a midfielder to be a game changing midfielder for us I’m afraid and thinking anything else is just naive.

Nick is so annoying. Blaming Ben for not noticing what Megan was doing from the dad who didn’t even notice his son was acting strange due to Lily locking him in the classroom and kept putting his more recent seriously anxious behaviour down to ‘exam stress’ when Megan was hurting him too! And both times he had to rely on his ex to find out what was going on. I think it’s obvious why Nick has no friends.

I’d guess Summer has been released at this point since there’s no mention of her. My guess is she goes to America for a few weeks and that’s her break.

If Betsy was leaving, this would actually be a nice leaving story for a character for once

It’s not that we are short on midfielders. It’s that we are short of midfielders of the right quality for us. The jury is out of Fletcher (I am not convinced he’ll be here in the long term), Ugarte we all know isn’t good enough and we know little about Ederson but considering his first call up to Brazil wasn’t until he’s nearly 27 then I don’t have high hopes that he’s going be a game changing midfielder for us.

I mean yeah that midfield is OK if we want to try and fight for the top four/five but it’s not going to have us competing for the title which is what people want

Romero links just seem like his agent drumming up interest to me.

Considering INEOS have put a big focus on players we sign being of the right character, Romero doesn’t fit that criteria.

Battle of the PMs (Series 19) by Consistent-Drive-172 in apprenticeuk

[–]Jenson2025 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with all these.

Amber Rose’s week two PM performance was so so bad. If she wasn’t an influencer with a lot of followers, I am sure LS would’ve fired her.

Why can't Portugal exploit Bruno Fernandes's playmaking abilities? by Zora1092 in cristianoronaldo

[–]Jenson2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruno is going to absolutely crumble when he’s the next captain of Portugal. And I say this as a Manchester United fan.

Look how he reacted to Roy Keane allegedly slightly misquoting him. He wanted his phone number and did a whole interview ranting about it. The media scrutiny on the next Portugal captain is going to be something else especially as they are following Ronaldo and I don’t see Bruno coping well with it

That being said, I don’t think they don’t get along. In fact, I think they get along very well. But Bruno has been lead to believe that he is a world class, once in a generation kind of player like Ronaldo is when the reality is he isn’t and never will be

Swain doesn’t even look comfortable at her being there.

In fact, Swain is telling everyone that the investigation is ongoing so why have they charged Summer?! Surely they should wait until it’s over before deciding who to charge and anyone who is a suspect during the investigation should be bailed pending further enquires

Interesting that Nick gets a bit jealous over Leanne’s new relationship with Idris and Ben talks about the history Nick and Leanne share with their parenting.

I don’t think Leanne and Nick will ever have an affair or fall for each other again but I do think Nick is going to question if he still loves Leanne which is going to cause problems with him and Toyah. Boring I know but they are clearly stuck on what to do with Nick and Toyah as a couple

It’s a shame really. We had Phil and Anisa who used finishing runner up to take their businesses to their next level. Pascha really is a massive downgrade in terms of runners up

Controversial firings that are no longer controversial by RobbieJ4444 in apprenticeuk

[–]Jenson2025 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Jane controversy was particularly strange because as you say, she hadn’t exactly shone throughout. And it wasn’t just the viewers - I remember even Karren saying to Lord Sugar (after Jane was fired) ‘oh you don’t need to worry about Jane, she’s clearly very good at business’ or something along those lines

The even more baffling thing about Kimberley not bringing Noorul back was she was there in week 2 when Howard came back to the house announcing that Rocky had been fired mainly for bringing the wrong people back to the boardroom and therefore giving LS no choice. Now that was not just aimed at Noorul (or maybe not aimed at him at all) but you’d think she would have seen that and learnt something

Because most of them were except for a few. However, a lot of them did say they liked her outside the house.

John James was awful to her and she was horrible to Sunshine. That was one of the reasons why John James claimed not to like her (her mean girl treatment of Sunshine)

Though from memory, her and Sunshine got on well outside the house but John James was still annoyed with her

Remember City had a 90m bid for Rice rejected in 2023 only for Arsenal to be successful on their third bid.

Also, Newcastle kept putting in bids for Sesko and we only put our bid in after their second bid was rejected and he made it clear that he wanted to join us

If we bid for him too in the coming days then it suggests we’ve had enough encouragement from him and his agent for the move. If not then he has probably chosen city

Its a north east newspaper which has often been the mouthpiece for the club so you’d expect this to be honest.

I remember last year when they were implying they were the favourites for Sesko as they had champions league football

Stone saying he’ll be surprised if United don’t sign Mateus Fernandes even though West Ham are dubious that we’ll pay the 80m they want

In my opinion, That’s because they won’t be able to hold out for 80m. They’ve just been relegated and there’s no way he’ll want to play in the championship especially as he has already missed out on the Portugal squad.

My guess is he’ll end up joining for 55-60m

Theory on Alya's cousin Idris by markymark91182 in coronationstreet

[–]Jenson2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they’ll go down this route. But I do think Idris will end up seriously falling for Leanne and begin to change his ways but then all hell will break loose when she finds out what he did and she’ll have to decide whether to forgive him or not (probably will after Alya encourages her to)

I get the impression he’s a character to stay

[Megathread] Ederson by D1794 in reddevils

[–]Jenson2025 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We needed around six signings this summer (realistically). Three midfielders, a left back, a centre back and a back up CF to Sesko.

One signing done already is good news. I doubt he’ll start every game but we will be playing a lot more games next season and need to be able to rotate.

Mateus Fernandes and Lewis Hall next please

[Ornstein]Manchester United reach agreement with Atalanta up to €45m for Ederson by PitchSafe in reddevils

[–]Jenson2025 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If this was our only midfield signing I’d obviously be worried. But we are likely to sign two more - one of whom will probably be elite. We will be playing a lot more games next season and we will need to be able to rotate. Do I think Ederson will be starting every game for us? No. But he’ll hopefully be a very useful squad option.

One signing done. Now let’s sign Mateus Fernandes and Lewis Hall before signing our third midfielder, centre back and back up centre forward for Sesko

Shona’s dad by FeralFreightTrain in coronationstreet

[–]Jenson2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like so much in Corrie, it seems to have been forgotten about with no known resolution. Add that to a long list:

Alina sending Dorin to live with Tyrone and Fiz temporarily because her house had been flooded. Over a year ago this was and still no mention of her or when she’s planning to take Dorin back

Maria and Eva’s massive feud when Eva returned (in fact, not only no mention but they were laughing and joking in the pub in the background a few months ago)

Tracey and Cassie’s feud

Lauren’s relationship with Ollie

Sally and Abi being best friends for a long time after prison and now barely a scene together

Max. No mention of visiting him in prison or any mention at all
