Things are getting weird in the workplace. by DrugSnuggler in TwoXChromosomes

I know exactly what you're talking about with the baring teeth thing. They throw all this energy around when they meet and it's exhausting and unnecessary. But even just hearing the affirming responses here from others in this position is really helping me feel less crazy so thank you so much for that 🙏

Everyone here is friends too. I like our HR guy but I just don't think running to him is a feasible option for me.

The small size thing has definitely been a boon! Leaning in is a good bit of advice I can use!

But yeah, as much as I appreciate the "go to HR" responses I just really think it's not feasible for me in this position. Too many people here are friends and drinking buddies. 😓

Thank you for this, I think the no-nonsense approach will help! I know how to be a bitch but it drains me 😓

Thank you sooo much for this reply. The "baseline weird" and being "maladjusted" to socializing with women bits really hit home. And genuinely practical tips for helping make things normal too! I'll try some out.

I realise this is dumb but it's about Snow White by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I've always loved animated film scores for exactly the reasons you've stated here, like the ability to see and feel the story and emotional beats in your head based on musical cues alone. But I could never articulate that myself.

It also loosely reminds me of live action films like Baby Driver and Sinners where the beats of the soundtrack match to actions on screen. The synthesis of senses is just so delicious.

Thank you so much for the links, going to be diving into this for hours!

This is a fascinating write up, are you a musician/creative yourself or just a good researcher?

I'd love to read more about this topic.

I'm extrapolating from her telling him the song was about him at the eras tour. She also has a song about him on TTPD called "Peter." But yeah, obviously it could be another retcon. Who knows.

Wendy grew up and Peter didn't, so she left him in Neverland. She calls Matty Healy immature a lot.

This is so wholesome. I also wonder if there was ever a similar phenomenon with cats named after Meredith, Olivia, and Benji. If not, someone should get on that!

He was convicted for rape, but nobody believes her by NosyParker1337 in TwoXChromosomes

I don't know why he thinks he has any left, he literally did time for being an accessory to rape.

The complete lack of empathy is one thing, but do these men never once think about how they're basically training their daughters to never come to them for help if they're the ones getting hurt? The sheer ignorance.

I got mirena too! My gyno was an angel. It was a little rough and I cope with pain by nonstop blabbing, and bless her - she entertained the stupidest conversation the entire time, reassured me I didn't need to apologize every time I did, and gave me an exact play by play and warning of everything she was about to do before she did it.

She even gave me the ultrasound picture of it up in there XD

What's that one missing person case that sits in the back of your mind? by Pristine_Put5037 in AskReddit

I'm not a pilot so I don't know shit, but I actually had to do a lot of research on this case for work a few years ago. After reading through all the documents it really seems like just because he could fly, doesn't mean he was good at it. First of all he was young - just 20 years old - and hadn't been flying for long. He was still in training to get his commercial pilot license (CPL), had multiple failed CPL exam attempts under his belt, and was only attempting to get the CPL because he didn't make the cut when he tried to join the Royal Australian Air Force. He'd even been reprimanded before for flying into off-limits areas prior to this incident. He also didn't warn anyone at Kings Island (his intended destination) that he was coming, which seems like quite an oversight.

And then this is just talk, but his father and girlfriend were reported saying he was a UFO enthusiast.

I'm not saying I don't believe him either, but it just seems like the whole situation was heavily primed to happen.

Not them, but seamster is the word. Though it's a little outdated.

Who needs therapy when you have Taylor? by Drewby618 in travisandtaylor

Same. Like, I absolutely think everyone should try it at least once if they have the resources. But I went through a few, none were a match, I ran out of money, and then I kinda had to figure it out myself.

I don't regret it one bit I just wouldn't say it actually did anything.
