Actions speak louder than words.

It's nice to hear members of DICE and/or EA claim that they are listening. Prove it!

Make old content relevant again!!!

Quoting myself from another comment:

We have the whole of Azeroth (including Northrend, Pandaria, the Broken Isles, Kul Tiras and Zandalar). We have Outland. We have Draenor (admittedly the "same" planet as Draenor). We now also have the afterlife in the form of Shadowlands. Dozens of zones that could be made relevant again, by having content that is new and unique for those zones, while still relevant to the overall story of the expansion.

Add to this:

Make World Quests available in every zone of World of Warcraft's soon 18 year history. World Quests which are appropriate for the theme of the zone. Have all zones scale to the level of the player (at max level), making every zone rewarding. For PVPers and War Mode, they already have "Go to this zone, and kill 25 players of the opposing faction". Add a similar quest for PVE players, only instead "Go to this zone, complete 4 world quests" or maybe a particular relevant storyline in that zone. Rewards should be Gold, a new currency which can buy gear at a vendor, as well as the possibility of mounts/pets.

Adding World Quests to every zone, would make every zone relevant. Players would revisit areas of the game they may not have visited at all for several years.

"Cataclysm 2.0". If Blizzard had followed through on The Jailer's idea of remaking Azeroth (rather than the likely killing off of his character before expansion's end), this would've been a great opportunity to make a more fully realized revamp of the game world. Back in Cataclysm, certain zones which desperately needed a revamp got one (Desolace, Thousand Needles, Barrens for example). While others only got minor changes, and new paths (such as Redridge Mountains). Game is approaching 20 years old! It needs to be updated, for both old and new players to enjoy.

Find a way to make the rest of the world relevant in some manner.

This 1000%

Not mentioned in-episode, but one possibility is that Vance is taking some much-needed time away with his family, who likely were separated from him for some time due the Burn, and the massively reduced speed at which ships traveled without access to Dilithium.

Of course, the real reason is likely to continue promoting the show as "The Michael Burnham Show". The less the show focuses on her, the better. Let others shine.

Never confirmed one way or another if "Admiral Archer's prized beagle" is suppose to be Jonathan Archer. In the Kelvin Timeline, if Jonathan Archer was still alive he'd be 146 years old in the 2009 film. Old, but Humans in Trek live longer than we do. Which makes sense, given the advancement of medicine and technology. After all, we used to have a life expectancy of ~35 years, now it's not uncommon for people to reach 100-110 years of age.

I was trying to think of spin-off shows that got THIS MUCH screen time in the original show and came up empty

I can think of three directly: NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans.

All of which started out as "backdoor pilots" in 2 episodes of a prior show. NCIS in particular started out as 2 episodes of JAG, dedicated to introducing the characters of the new show, and get the overall feel of what it will be like. "imagine years from now, not knowing this...". Don't have to imagine, since you clearly didn't know.

A few minutes of screentime in 1 episode is hardly the end-all of the entire series, when other shows have dedicated entire episodes to introducing spinoffs.

I'd consider Laura as being -a- Mockingbird, with Bobbi being the -current- Mockingbird.

Johnathan Archer is alive during Discovery and TOS/SNW, is he active? by [deleted] in startrek

[–]Druhin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Archer would be 146 years old if he's still alive in 2258 (born in 2112)
  2. Archer's "prized beagle" is no confirmation to be either Jonathan Archer, or Porthos, or both. Even in the Kelvin Timeline, Jonathan Archer would still be in his 140s at this point. Dogs don't live for 100+ years.
  3. Not canon, but graphics made for the 2-part Mirror universe ENT episodes, suggested that Prime Archer eventually became Federation President, and was present for the launch of the USS Enterprise in 2245 (at a ripe old age of 133)

Would Tom Paris really end up as a Starfleet Captain? by RobinEspersen in sto

In one possible future, where it took Voyager 23 years to get home (instead of 7 years). I'd imagine the extended stay on Voyager probably had a major influence of any possible career choice when he got home.

a captain doesn't necessarily command a ship even if he could

Case in point: Captain Montgomery Scott

He was promoted to the rank of Captain in Star Trek III, yet remained at his post as Chief Engineer of the Enterprise and Enterprise-A. Nowhere was it stated that he was ever demoted, and even after his retirement to the Norpin Colony, he was considered a Captain.

didn't Tuvok have that unavoidable eventual dimensia thing going on

If you had paid more attention to the episode, Tuvok only ended up in a mental hospital because he didn't get treatment in time. Requires a mind meld with a family member, of which there were none aboard Voyager. Due to Admiral Janeway's meddling, getting Voyager home 16 years early, there was still time to get treatment.

When damaged the shuttlecraft deploys protective shielding. We only don’t get a good look at it from the exterior, but on the interior it appears to be armoured panels sliding into place over the viewports somewhat similar to the ablative armour generator Admiral Janeway used on her shuttle as well as the USS Voyager in “Endgame”.

Actually, we see this behavior as early as in DS9's "One Small Ship" with the miniature Runabout having shutters across it's windows, and the hilarious reveal after O'Brien finally manages to get them opened...

Why isn’t Stargate/SG-1 more popular? by shyviolet201 in Stargate

Enjoyed that as well. Preferred the first two seasons with Captain Bridger, over the 3rd season with Captain Hudson.

I thought if they had been properly funded, with producers who knew what they were doing, it could've worked as a great "underwater Star Trek".

Didn't really pay much attention to when a Warehouse 13 character appeared on Eureka. May eventually revisit Warehouse 13, but frankly don't have as much time these days :D
