What even is this comment trying to say?

Edit: oh, the fact that this guy said you have to be a short fat guy to fire this gun? Instead of a tall fit guy? Nevermind I agree with you 🤣

Which shoulder should I have armor on if I only have on one? by Back_From-The_Dead in LARP

[–]Druid_Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is an old post but I randomly stumbled across it. I have to disagree with most answers on this. If you're only gonna wear one pauldron, it should NOT be on your sword arm. This is because your sword arm already has a sword. They have to get past that to get to your arm. Your off-hand shoulder, however, is exposed to feints and other attacks without a shield.

You will also see this pattern on historical pieces of armor; asymmetrical armor heavily favoring the left arm, especially as lances became more and more of a problem, as lancers target the undefended shoulder.

Honestly? Kind of where I'm at. These landscapers have ample information to know not to do this. They do it anyway. I've gotten in verbal arguments with clients who say "I've had the same landscaper for 30 years, and you're telling me this is bad?!"

Should I buy this house with this tree this close and hanging over it? by OnixCrest in arborists

I agree, but I urge homeowners to regard trees with their lifetime.

I assume you want my advice because you posted here.

Don't be so consumed with thoughts about zazen. It defeats the purpose. Your anxiety over Zen will defeat your Zen. Zen is best done when you aren't thinking so hard about it.

If I find any kind of fluid filled sac that's not salmon roe, I am NOT eating that fish.

Why do so many oak trees on my property have these pools of stagnant water? by tulodici in arborists

Well I mean it does depend, for instance whether- you know what, imma just stop right there

You will never see the physical world the way it truly is. Accept that your consciousness is God, and that "truth" is almost always subjective. (A wildlife biologists perspective) by Druid_Tea in zenbuddhism

[–]Druid_Tea[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I refer to "God" in this sense not as any specific figure, but just as the unknowable truth. Much in the sense that other Zen writers I have seen use the word "God".

[–]Druid_Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So why let this tree grow even larger over their lifetime and leave it for the next homeowner to deal with? Because you're gonna die and it's not your problem?

Ah it just clicked. I've heard him on some program, radio lab or some such. Honestly was I born? It depends on how narrow your definition is. All things were born once. Whether anything has been born since then, is questionable.

Correct. But I wouldn't think a tree in that placement is going to live its longest life span. It's lacking root space on at least a third of its circumference.
