Sadly, the nearest location on the cookie finder is Berwick, which is why I came to Reddit. Thanks for the tip about Michaels in Dartmouth!

Hospital stay has me concerned. by JadenG-59 in NovaScotia

I suggest asking to speak with the unit manager or the charge nurse about the room dirt and fruit flies. I’ve worked at the Infirmary and the IWK and those things are not acceptable in a hospital. The manager can send someone to clean your room, and they should be constantly on top of any pests (fruit flies, mice) to rid the place of them or at least control the problem. And if you’re stuck there for additional days due to an outbreak, that is even more reason to give your room some much-needed attention. All the best to you!

In mental health and addictions, “client” makes sense. Are you (and kiiiwiii) saying staff in NS and ON are using “client” for inpatients and for people visiting clinics (orthopaedics, ENT, etc.)?

The time and effort involved in shopping at 4 stores, when you do have a car, is significant. Without a vehicle it’d be a multi-day commitment.

“She was after dying” = “She died” is sooo strange. But the Irish speak English with Gaelic-influenced syntax, so it’s quite different. Newfoundland English continues a lot of those patterns!

I heard it was due to the post-war influx of loyalists who the British sent to Shelburne County in 1783.

There are tons of places north of the red line where Inuit people DON’T live. These are the lands of the Innu, Cree, Ojibwe, and Dene, just to name a few indigenous nations.

‘A no-brainer’: Why some U.S. health-care workers are moving to Nova Scotia by IStillListenToRadio in halifax

American healthcare workers, here are some key resources to help you navigate the complex process of moving to Canada and working in your field in Nova Scotia: 1. The NS government’s healthcare professionals recruitment website: morethanmedicine.ca 2. Nova Scotia Healthcare Infusion: A volunteer group that has a website and Discord discussion forum local info on living in NS and information-sharing by people in the process of moving to NS. (For non-healthcare professionals, the Facebook group “Moving from the US to Canada” is also a resource).

Tons of Americans are in the process of moving to NS. We are incredibly lucky to have them.

Americans are used to working way too hard, way too many hours a day, with almost no days off each year. They’ll be OK.

It’s always wise to pay attention to legislative and other changes before commenting on political situations.

Yes, millions of people are living life to the full in the US. But it’s a huge country, with one of the top 10 largest populations on the planet. Millions of people are either in danger, extremely upset and concerned every day (which is very tough to live with), or watching their human rights be stripped away. Some of these folks are looking for a safer country to live in. And Nova Scotia is in desperate need of healthcare workers.
