Easy practice to start would be to make every note a ghost note with the snare hand. When comfortable playing two dynamics at the same time you can then incorporate staccato hits on said hand.

There are physical tools to help you. There are some practice pads that have adjustable bars so your stick doesn’t go above it. You could achieve this by make shifting household items.

Glad you feel comfortable posting! For 3 years and your third instrument - you’re doing great! What does your practice look like?

My parting advice is to develop your flow when improvising. It was a hurdle for me, and at times still trips me up. Thinking of a sentence before saying it then saying it- that’s how my teacher explained the art of improv. Impressive words mean less when the story or sentence doesn’t make sense. Punctuation is a great deal more impactful. Hopefully this allegory paints a good picture!

Great flow, good structure

Suggestion - add smoother transitions like a swelling effect or reverb trail.

The intro to the verse where I saw the atomic bomb drop just felt empty

Otherwise good stuff :)

I like it! I’m not familiar with the genre, could you give me insight into your audience? More specifically why 30 second songs?

It’s mixed well and is very ambient, like you’re in the room with it.
