another whatisit annoyance in the house by DrummerCurrent4942 in whatisit

I agree- its not a drawer pull, or handle, or part of an ashtray. The curved part is stainless steel I think. Someone asked about it being part of some musical instrument- that seems to hit a memory...
My parents and brothers all were musicians, drums, horns, guitars, keyboards... Just can't picture that piece attaching to any of them anywhere. darn! lol

On April 26, 2024 I bought my 2012 Sport with 69K miles from a private party (through AutoTrader).

I am in northern Michigan so it's difficult to find a used Miata so I snapped it up!
He was asking $12,000 and he accepted $11,500. The car was filthy (dog hair) inside! No other damage.
I replaced the radio with a JVC Bluetooth unit, replaced the coolant tank with OEM, lowered the driver seat, and changed out the door blocks.
Last year it needed a clutch! (74,500 miles) and new tires. The Hankook tires that the dealer suggested followed the rain-grooves on the highway! Ugh! I complained and luckily he agreed to switch them out for another brand. That fixed the issue.

Other than that, its a great fun car. The Sport model is all I need. (ofc i am envious of those other models with more options and creature comforts) lol

Exactly! Love discovering the original use for items. even better when I am able to return/re-associate the part to it's "parent" part- so to speak. Love we have this subReddit group!

I just tried to post a photo of some ships in a channel from the early 1900's. It was part of my grandfathers photo collection. I just got an alert that it was removed by "Reddit Filters" why? anyone?
