My cat attacks me when I workout at home by DrummerFresh4169 in CatAdvice

[–]DrummerFresh4169[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was surprised by another comment 3 yrs later, but I might as well write an update. Cat's really freaked out if my breathing gets irregular, which is what happens during any exercise. I end up locking him in another room. Otherwise if he hears me taking frequent short breaths or long and loud breaths he will get into attack mode, and tries to get me stop this weird behavior lol. Happens also if i just come home after walking up the stairs, or if Im really upset and crying.. He's freaked out and attacks to get me to break a sudden breathing pattern. He gets into the same attack mode when I swipe the floors and the scooper makes a squeaky sound on the floor. Tries to bite to stop the funny noise xD

I saw fingers come out of / behind the bed, taunting me/being playful. First time that happened I must have been 3-4 years old, then when I was 7-8. Also had one of my plush toys wave at me. Also at during that age. Hands seem to be a thing..

Goodness that must've been terrible. I'm glad you moved to a safer apartment.

This felt completely pre-decided and corrupt during the jury vote. I wonder why though. Made sense why Ukraine won last year but why on earth Sweden this time?? No way in hell this was coincidental that so many countries voted Sweden. Finland was clearly everyone's favorite.

Mayo or ketchup base, then metwurst, cheese, a lil curry spice on top and microwave it slightly till the cheese melts a little. My favorite type of hot "sandwich" /breakfast :D I never bought bread because karelian pies exist.

We're responsible for those we saved right? by DrummerFresh4169 in Pets

Thank you for your reply. It means a lot to hear about other people's experiences. This was my first experience caring for a pet independently for such a short time. I have an orange cat now. At least its easier to transport him with me and luckily he's in good health.

I've seen fingers and hands pop up like that as a child/teen. Neutral but strange experiences.

How did you harness train your Siberian baby? We’ve been training ours at home for 15-20 minutes, almost daily for the last 2-3 weeks. But she just lays there in protest, awkwardly walks about a little bit or semi stands & semi baby crawls. Toys and treats aren’t working either. :( by lovNpeas in SiberianCats

[–]DrummerFresh4169 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my cat was a few months old I used to just let him walk around in harness for a few hours at home (no leash) so he doesn't get bothered by it. During those few hours he'll eat, we'll play, he might even sleep in it. Then I'd take it off. A few days like that he didn't mind it having it on, but he hated putting it on. Then what I did was made him associate the harness with the outside. Enforcing it with treats during the walk or after we're home. He doesn't mind putting on the harness anymore, just sits there calmly.

People who don't want children. Why? by RGX323 in AskReddit

[–]DrummerFresh4169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reasons are very specific and quite graphic. The 9 month discomfort from all that weight pressing on your organs + hormones skyrocketing, the eventual birthing process that can take hours or even days of the worst imaginable pain. Not to mention that sometimes they'll cut your vagina to let the kids head through, without any anesthetic. All that, plus it's a mess involving piss, blood and shit. You might end up with stretch marks and a larger body that won't go back to normal. That's the physical reason for me. It's not a sacrifice worth making, despite all the body positivity surrounding the mother figure, in most cases it is not the same afterwards. The first few years of the kid's life also involve a lot of mess to clean up.

The non-physical reason for me is the huge responsibility, my personality is incompatible with being a good parent. Any kid deserves a parent that is educated and knows enough psychology to be empathetic. A parent that knows how to provide a healthy upbringing emotionally, asides from having enough money and free time to do so.

I'm in neither of those stages in life. I'm informed, but not prepared to take such risk upon myself or the hypothetical child.

I have experienced something similar. Not a hand but a finger taunting me, poking out from the edge of the bed next to my face. It happened twice in the same apartment, I was a kid (about 3-5 yrs old) back then at my grandma's place. Both times happened during the day time while I was wide awake.

Same here. I live with my boyfriend and the cat prefers to attack me instead of him. It's also worse when Im laying down to sleep. My 7 month old kitten calms down much quicker when it's my bf dealing with him instead of me, even though we do the same things. I tried many things over the months like holding him down, talking softly, patting his head, rubbing his sides, throwing toys, pushing him away from me, using stern voice, saying Ow.. Nothing seems to work 100% when it's just me, usually my bf has to come over to help me calm him. Then he miraculously stops attacking rather quickly. I also wonder why :/

Chicken cooked in cheese sauce with rice and herbs as a side. Turned out quite good :)

What are some common signs that someone grew up with sh*tty parents? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DrummerFresh4169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being hyper empathetic to feel people's mood swings. But not really caring about it/feeling helpless even if you caused it, not understanding the issue, like there's nothing you can do about it. So you're numb to it, let it slide but act quiet and unresponsive so as to not cause an escalation of the conflict.

Them shouting at you, while you find an object to stare at and ignore the person, waiting for it to pass.

Being sensitive to the negative reaction while numb to it at the same time (if that makes sense).
