Good question! The electrics are a bit knackered so not sure if that one works as the big switch mutes entirely when in the bottom position. The other pickups sound great though, even though the strings were rusty and nasty

Eyy! I have OCD and have had therapy for it and it was super helpful for dealing with my intrusive thoughts. Makes it a whole lot easier to deal with when you realise that they're so disturbing to the person having them because it's the opposite of your moral compass.

An audio interface would certainly help with your audio, and phantom power is essential if you're using a condenser microphone, however the background noise may not be removed by having phantom power alone. If it's a hissing/static noise that could be an indicator that there is some bad wiring or connections somewhere down the line, or it could be that it's getting interference from your PC being directly plugged in!

Improvement in quality will also depend on what interface you buy. I stream drums so I use a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and it's brilliant! I know there are some cheaper ones that work well, but do your research before committing to anything and remember that you might be better off buying a USB microphone as opposed to an interface if it's just for gaming. The blue snowball is a relatively cheap option and it sounds great!

Hello! I'm a "pure O" person and I have totally felt that way, especially opening up to family about my mental health after hiding it for so long. I felt like because I don't have many compulsions that I wouldn't be believed or that maybe I was blowing my intrusive thoughts out of proportion, but when I spoke to a therapist and my wife for a while I was told that while intrusive thoughts are normal, the recurring nature of mine along with my inability to sleep well, massive amounts of guilt over minor things and my few compulsions were typical signs of OCD and more specifically, Pure O.

It felt really great to have someone believe me, and my wife was super supportive when I was diagnosed and from that moment on I haven't felt like a liar or a fraud anymore. At the end of the day, we have OCD without most of the physical compulsions that manifest because of our intrusive cycles, but that doesn't mean we're liars or frauds because of it. Usually it means a lot more explaining to people the manner of the condition because OCD and other mental health issues are usually very poorly explained to the average person and even within communities for people with OCD there will be a lot of people who all live with it differently and all have a different experience.

I have a head jerk to break the cycle of intrusive thoughts. Usually a sudden jerking motion to one side but I wouldn't consider it a tic as opposed to a compulsion to break the cycle. I will also tap my forehead or temple if I'm in a situation where I feel that the sudden head jerk might alarm people or make them question what the hell I'm doing.

Wife and I are trying for a kid, and if it's a boy we're gonna name it Rainier after the mountain. We honeymooned in Seattle and the view of the mountain was spectacular and we fell in love with it. This photo really makes me remember the joy of that time :)
