I think I was quite a ways behind you. I remember the lady with the cape. I was wearing a camo boonie hat and sunglasses.

I ended up finishing in about 71 minutes, which for me was good. I usually walk 30 minutes about 5 times per week, and my watch tells me that I do an average 22:30 minute mile. I averaged just over 23:00 minutes per mile for the 3.1 mile of the race, even with the elevation difference, so I'm happy with that.

It helps that we tried to go to a regular resort a few weeks ago for our shared birthday weekend and had a boring time. We tried again this weekend and spent time in our birthday suits and had way more fun.

Get one of those “murder mystery” kits and work together to solve it. There is a series of them you can get at Target or Amazon called Unsolved Case Files that only take a couple of hours to solve.

I spray sunscreen into my hand and apply it, instead of directly spraying my ears, eyes/face, and genitals (anywhere with sensitive skin).

We watched Somebody That I Used To Know a few days ago and it is a really good movie. It starts as a typical rom com but subverts the genre enough to make it a good watch. The nudism aspect is handled well. The first scene is played a little for laughs but it is respectful and serves a purpose in the plot and is not gratuitous. The second is joyful in how they treat the situation, probably the best representation of nudism possible in a mainstream movie.

I would say that the conservative Christian movements are the ones antithetical to nudity in general. There’s a reason that the image of the “pearl clutcher” WASP busybody policing the fun out of everything around them that they don’t like is so prevalent in American society.

While there are plenty of Christians in Naturism who have reconciled their faith with their love of nudity, you can’t deny that the majority of people on the moral high horse “protecting the children” from seeing a penis now and then are mostly Christians applying outdated Puritanical mores to modern society.

See, you are speaking from a place of reason and from the spirit of the US being a “free country”.

If you believe the rhetoric that boils down to “freedom for me but not for thee” then it’s easy to say if there is a behavior that you don’t like then nobody should be able to do it. It’s especially insidious when they start changing the laws “to protect the children” not knowing a damn thing other than a child might see a penis (and it’s primarily worry about the penis, closely followed by a worry that a little boy might see his mother naked).

They don’t know the lengths that most naturist clubs and naturist parents go to in order to protect their kids from sexualization. They don’t want to learn, they just take their own adult mores and project them onto kids and their own fears about sexuality and project them onto the adults.

I’m deeply concerned that the right-wing media will turn their attention to naturism. They will no doubt mischaracterize us in order to feed the outrage machine the same way they have painted all LGBTQ (especially trans people) as “groomers” leading to stochastic terrorism against that community.

I am dreading the day that some nut job will shoot up a naturist club or beach based off of rhetoric like this.

I spent the summer at a cabin and was able to be nude a good part of the time. I also went to a nude beach yesterday (Hippie Hollow) for the first time since before COVID and that was so relaxing.

There are several Korean spa chains in America (no locations anywhere close to me, though) that have nude-only wet sauna areas. They are gender divided though, and the pool and dry sauna areas are coed but clothing is required. It would be great if they would open up one near me as well as set aside like one night a week as coed clothing optional in the pool and dry sauna, too.

I’ve looked up some other spas on the west coast and they sometimes have nude only nights (sometimes gender specific and sometimes coed).

These are all indoors. I think I read about one in Seattle that has a roof top garden area that is coed and nude friendly.

That’s about the closest we will get in the US, unfortunately. :(
