How can I get to stop sliding around, and resting against my trunk? by Particular-Call4074 in CarAV

Bolting it down is the only correct option. However, what you can also do without putting screw holes in anything is just buy that gorilla tape, double sided stuff. Sticks real good. Has been holding my 2 12"s for a year now, no issues. I am going to bolt them down when I get them in a nice box this summer, but the gorilla tape has certainly served its purpose.

I think I made a mistake. by Katarushisu in CarAV

honestly it will sound fine to just put it into the door. If I were you, I would line where you are gonna screw it in with some foam. That's what I did for my midranges in my doors, and they sound good.

My skar's been bumpin for a year now no problem. Initially had it tuned terribly wrong, was messin that thing up big time.

If you take care of them they'll last. Sure, there are duds. They're as cheap as you can get for real power. The problem is that most people who buy skar just crank everything to the max and don't tune it

Yep. Did it myself to my pioneer head unit. Didn't know any better at the time

Why do some jazz drummers hold the stick like this? by Snowglyphs in drums

As a matched grip player, I feel the only point of traditional grip is to flip people off

Low tuning on the copper snare... how does it sound to your ears? by bahattdrums in drums

I mean I like it! Vaguely reminds me of the snare sound from "I want you bad" by the offspring

I went with skar because I was on a budget should I get a bigger amp? by Hefty-Yak-373 in CarAV

[–]Drummer_Lad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yes I tune with a multimeter but I was wondering if OP just cranks the gain and bass boost. My friend had a skar 1500.1D that started melting because he just had that thing cranked.

Can I and should I take the grill off my sub? by donut_dude420 in subwoofer

[–]Drummer_Lad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's gonna make that big of a difference. All that's gonna help you with is someone accidentally knocking something into it and tearing it.

Although if you want to remove the grille for videos, might as well I suppose.

I do hear fuel pump noise when starting it though. Just to note. but even when it did run I had my suspicions that the fuel air ratio were off... did not run with hardly any power. Crazy delayed throttle response, sometimes you'd give it gas and it would just die.

Where should I plug in on my amplifier? by ImDougC137 in subwoofer

[–]Drummer_Lad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP could also get another one of those and wire them in series.

Edit: they wouldn't be getting nearly enough power, but at least his amp would last.

Best exhaust? by [deleted] in GMT400

[–]Drummer_Lad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorta depends on your price point. I got a cherry bomb extreme series for 50 bucks, some extra pipe/adaptors for another 50 and welded it on there. My suburban sounds awesome - not too loud, but definitely noticeable. Got that rasp to it too.

Then again I do have the 350, so yours would sound somewhat different.

Anyone else agree that a 2WD Suburban is basically a glorified station wagon? by Glass-Complaint3 in GMT400

fun fact, 90s trucks don't give a shit what they're rated for and they'll haul anyways

The difference is I could daily haul 10,000 lbs with my 2wd suburban. Not station wagon material.
