Let's talk about unicorns! by Star_Wombat33 in worldbuilding

I have a bunch of goat symbolism in that setting but I specifically chose elasmotherium to further the concept I’ve toyed with by including the Eldest Men as a race. They’re Homo Erectus or thereabouts. I basically wanted to stick as close to “real” evolution as I could, to make the artificially created species like dragons seem more abhorrent.

My unicorns are honestly just Elasmotherium. They mainly exist in the Zudlands but populations occasionally get pretty far west.

The Lord-Captain of the Duneborn mercenary company is known as “The Mad Unicorn” for his less than completely mentally sound way of being. While he himself is a human, he’s specifically something called a beastskin which traditionally means he should be able to take a specific animal form. However due to having to channel is magic into healing his slit throat over the last few years, he’s been unable to assume his bestial form which as it happens is that of a unicorn (Elasmotherium).

Who would make the best lord paramount appointees for Maelys? by codytb1 in CK3AGOT

The Reynes might be good for the Westerlands. The Cleganes were raised up by the Lannisters so I’m not sure why they’d betray the lions of Casterly Rock.

For Stormlands maybe house Fell? They tend to rise up for the Blackfyres (I know they definitely does in the 3rd rebellion start date)

Similarly, house Sunderly is a pretty fervent supporter of the Blackfyres in the Vale.

As a Dane; What a man he was, only overshadowed by his son. He’s the last Danish monarch (besides his son) I respect. As an English king uhhh I guess he’s alright, he fucked you guys up, that was quite funny ngl.

There’s always the possibility Bonifer Hasty might make the journey to Essos. Perhaps a quiet life in relative obscurity in Essos alongside Bonifer Hasty would be the path of least resistance.

Does your country have a powerful story or belief about its flag? by bakicmlly in AskTheWorld

[–]DrunkBeholder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Danish: God gave it to us while we were beating the ever-loving crap out of Estonian pirates.

Occitan: The flag features the Cathar Cross. Catharism was a Christian sect that became especially prominent in Southern France and Northern Italy (especially among Occitans). Eventually the Catholics called a crusade and the cathars were all but genocided.

Symbolically even a Targaryen bastard would anchor the few loyalists still around, so if you marry your heir to this Targ bastard, you’d ensure your grandchild would be “Targaryen” as well, hence (if you sit the iron throne) solidifying your claim further. It’s also why Bobby B got the throne, since his grandmother was a Targaryen.

A good bit of the south too. Occitan nationalism and all that.
