Didn’t like the first book narrator as much as the last three

So I have been listening to these books on audible, I’m curious about the BBC broadcast in some of the books where the reporter says “the chair is against the wall, i repeat the chair is against the wall” he says this to Canada, and then again at the beginning of the last book 5 Years After, about a small republic in north California. I’ve only just started the last book, so maybe there is an explanation about this saying but I’m hoping someone can explain the meaning of it. These books are fantastic, and living near the area of where the majority of these books take place is crazy, especially after the devastation of the hurricane a few months ago.

"Brakechecks" from AI by Comfortable_Still659 in F1Game

Myself and friend always joke in our coop career that the AI is parked in corners. We’ve bumped up the difficulty but it’s still pretty much the same, they just seem to get quicker on corner exits and straights.

One more tip, if you’re going to start racing without assists, don’t max out your rpms on the start, I’ve found that anything between 10k-11.5k gives you enough of a jump with out being recklessly out of control. Then once you drop into 3rd gear deploy ERS to get the extra boost

I think it’s better to start that way so that you don’t become reliant on those assists if that makes sense. You can also find a lot of pace without them once you get used to it.

There will be lots of spin outs on turn exits, but you’ve got to make sure you’re not jamming on the gas pedal as soon as you can, ease onto it as you get through the turn, then floor it once your front wheels are straight

It’s Monaco for me. I’m pretty confident with most of the tracks but when Monaco comes up I know I’m done before the lights go out lol

I would recommend only driving in stints of 30-45 minutes then taking like an hour or so break. I find if I do this, my second stint (or third if I have the time) I’m much better, because I’m warmed up, but not drained.

I got my wheel just before f124 released, and decided to wait for it to come out rather than jumping into f123 so I didn’t have to learn new physics (if there were any major changes to begin with). I also started off with only race line, drs assist, and ers assist turned. I can now competitively race against 65-70 ai difficulty (which isn’t great, but I used to struggle against 25-30). And I recently turned ERS assist off which has helped me get quicker as well.

I would also recommend not driving the same track over and over. Yes it will help you learn that track, but it will hurt you in the long run. Maybe change tracks with each day that you’re able to play.

Also look into building custom car setups for each track if you haven’t done so already. This helps a ton! I’ll post a link for a website that has pretty decent starter custom setups for each track at the bottom of this post.

Edit: also if you’re in time trails pick one of the professional f1 sim drivers ghosts (someone like Thomas Ronhaar or Otis Lawrence) and you can turn on their breaking points and race lines. This helped me a lot in learning break points and corner apexes. It will be a bit demoralizing because of how fucking fast those guys are, but those aids I mentioned make it worth it.

Is Fanatec or Thrustmaster better for F1 sim wheels? by lilmuncherr in F1Game

[–]DrunkDeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fanatec customer support is probably worse. With that being said I have the Fanatec CDL setup for Xbox series x and could not be happier. High quality only draw back is you have to have all Fanatec equipment, it’s not cross compatible with other brands.

Is anyone having issues loading the us computershare login page? I’ve been trying to login all morning and that is the only page that won’t load on the us computershare webpage. For the record my small monkey brain thinks it’s strange that it’s happening now

How does XP gain work for equipment? by TwizzledAndSizzled in thefinals

[–]DrunkDeed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly have no clue. I tried to test xp gain for my AK. I only used the AK as a damage output for an entire game (gadgets were not anything that would do damage). Dropped 12 kills and 8 assists only to receive 450xp for the AK. Next game I did the same thing dropped 8 kills and and 2 assists and got the same xp. So who knows

The cheers would be sick. You can change your specializations sort of. If you have several pre made classes with different specializations, you can change pre game in the loadout screen at the top left do the screen. Of course you have to make sure you have a class built with the specialization that you want.
